Sidescrollers post 2000?

Can anyone rattle off the titles of some sidescrollers (action/platform) that came out after the year 2000? All I ever hear about are puzzle/shooter/driving/light gun games.

Namco - Spica Adventure

I would say Zombie Revenge but klov says it was released in 1999...

Pretty fun game.

...preferably 2D. None of that 3D roaming BS.

True. What ever happened to the 1 hit kill action games that were so popular in the late 80's/early 90's?

I've found 2 little interesting games for you. Similar style for both, single screen platforming clear all the enemies.

ESD - Jumping Pop. (2001) Suck up enemies in a vacuum pack ala ghost busters and spit them out...

Subsino - Penguin Bros (2000). Throw bombs, use cannons, collect keys for doors. Looks very neat, and has one crazy intro.

Found both of these in MAME. You can browse by year. Altough MAME is only current to 2002.

I think Mario and Sonic helped kill off any hope for a real succesful 1 hit 1 kill side scrolling action/adventure series for the arcades. Companies seemed to busy making clones for the home market. Could say the genre got over saturated.
