Hey, all,

My old topic didn't get any love, so here's the more specific version: I want to mount an Atomiswave mobo in the big red I've got (this is for people that randomly click on topics without reading what they're about).

But I'm a bit of a noob. What parts do I need? How would I got about doing it? How easy would it be to install a switch between the two mobos? Thanks in advance.

NO switch between boards just unplug the MVS board and put the Awave on top of the MVS mobo. (take MVS carts out first) The easyest thing to do about the speakers is to get the stereo plug for the Awave and wire it to the speakers. Or you can make the Big Red play all jamma PCBs and mount a 4 pole on/off switch down were the test and survice buttons are and wire the cab for 2 speaker mono/stereo. The second one is what I did. Oh ya I also put some cardboard down first on the MVS mobo before I but any jamma boards on to of it.

Sounds easy enough. But why is a switch a bad idea, besides having to find room in there for everything? I'm not married to the idea or anything, but it seemed like a good idea. Maybe a pain to make, but nothing crazy.

Otherwise, I hear the game select button works fine as a fifth button; does this require any other care? Anything else I need to worry about?

Finally, where could I find thorough instructions for making a switch between mono and stereo sound? I'm not super interested in putting PCBs in there right now, but it seems like a good thing to know. On the other hand, I think I'm going to save up for a Candy, but all knowledge is good knowledge after all. Or something...

IMO, it would be easier to make something like this, but instead of adding buttons, you could bring over stereo sound from the mb's output. You could even switch over the test button so it works with the cab. Would cost like $15 with parts from therealbobroberts. You may have to pop out the audio pins on the board side though. A bit more to it but not much...
