Just from what I see now , I can tell this is a TOP notch setup.
I've pretty much soured on my opinion of SNK's red and woodgrain cabs with the exception of ttooddddyy's red twins and I look forward to seeing more.

hey pixeljunkie,

Pictures coming soon...

I'm waiting for help to lift the 32" Widescreen HDTV.
(my uncle is coming over this afternoon or tomorrow)

The 32" HDTV is heavy! ... the TV base has to be lifted 4' high!

I don't want to take the final picts until it's all together.

... joystick and systems were already tested and working 100%.

That looks really sweet. I like your choice for the art work and can't wait to see the final picks.

Are all the systems wired to the joysticks at the same time?

Do you have just one jamma loom that you move between the arcade boards?

SG1? Does this mean you have more than one supergun?

Killer job, but I want to know how everything is wired. :D :buttrock:

Joystick "Custom" DB15 cable:
I made a custom joystick cable (DB15) that has 2 joystick connections for each system. The Neo Geo AES, Atomiswave, Hyper 64 and 6-slot are all connected to the same custom cable. By doing this, all the joysticks are "hot wired" to the systems at the same time, and you never have to plug in the joysticks again. The PS2 joysticks are also plugged into the loop.

Jamma Connections/SG's:
I usually play the 6-slot more, so I only have (1) jamma cable to connect between the Hyper 64 and the 6-slot. The Atomiswave connects to Super Gun 1, and the Hyper 64 and 6-slot connect to Super Gun 2 (the power supply works for both Neo systems). I had to split the Atomiswave and the Neo systems because the Atomiswave has different power supply requirements.

Video/Audio Connections:
Here's the fun part!
All the systems are plugged into a Component/S-Video/RCA selector switch. If I want to play the Neo Geo AES, I press button 1. The selector switch automatically changes the video and audio feed to play on the HDTV! If I want to play Atomiswave, I press button 2. Hyper 64 or 6-slot, button 3, and PS2, button 4.
The selector switch box is hidden, out of view, but easily accessible.

Here's a picture of the entire set-up.

The front joystick console (and systems) can be moved anywhere in the room. The audio/video cables are 16 feet long and feed through the back of the joystick console under the cabinet and up to the HDTV.

The cabinet in the back is custom designed and can hold over 300+ AES/MVS games. (I needed a place to hold ALL my games in one place!) The top shelf is dedicated to MVS games, while shelves 2, 3, and 4 are AES only. The entire inside of the cabinet is layered with white Pionite laminate. To keep the games clean and in mint condition.

Incredible pix 8man.

Some really fine custom work has gone into that.

Wheres the blue bag? :D

Also I can't help think of it as some sort of a "Neo Shrine" it looks like an altar for worship ;) :buttrock:

I wish I had the talent to do something like that. One day when I have time Id hope to get something like that complete. I just finished my game room but have nothing like that in it.

This is the Audio/Video Selector Box (Component/S-Video/RCA).
It's hidden beneath the joysticks on a hinge and easily accessible!

Press a button and your audio and video changes instantly for:
Neo Geo, Atomiswave, Hyper 64, 6-Slot or PS2!

If you look to the far left, and the far right of the selector box ...
you will see 2 cotter pins ... Release both pins ...

The joystick top is TOTALLY PORTABLE!! :buttrock:

That looks incredible :) You could have made it that little bit bigger and made a still-comfortable 4 player setup, but still, it looks great

He could still do a 3 player with one in the middle, or a neo stick or something...

I love the top folding up! You can store all kinds of junk under that. :tickled:

i like the way there is a nice large space between the controls. Makes 2 player a lot less 'intimate' LOL, greak work!!!

Thanks everyone!!

I put a lot of work into this, and designed this baby from scratch!
I started building only after I tweaked everything in the design/testing stage.

Controls and Button Layout

I made the distance between the 2 controls great enough
so 2 people can stand side by side without hitting each other.

Also, check out the button layout:

buttons.jpg

The 8 buttons match the natural way your fingers hit the buttons,
and there is NO SPACE between each button. I call it zero tolerance.

I made 4 different button layouts ... tested them all and this was the BEST!

Even the joystick is the right distance from the buttons.

and the button to the left of the joystick?

For Neo Geo: The button to the left of the joystick is the "Select" Button.
the "Start" Button is the 1 or 2 player button on the front of the console.

For Atomiswave: This is button number 5!

For PS2: When you press that button it will automatically
use the 4-directional arrows on a PS2 controller!
press it again, and it goes back to the PS2 joystick!
