So what's the goddamn deal with Prehistoric Isle 2? Does it suck?

There's only about one review for this game on both this site and Kazuya's site combined, and it's not overly detailed.

I really haven't ever seen much info on it, really. All I know is that it was done by much the same team that did Blazing Star and Pulstar, but that Saurus had a pretty big hand in it. Or maybe that's not correct, either.

Opinions? Worth the price that the MVS commands?

Did you see Kiken's review-movie-thingie?
Is it linked to one of the threads in the shooter forum? I tried to download that when he first posted it and I couldn't get it to work right.

I'll give it another shot, good idea.

If you are a schmup fan, AND like dinosaurs, then yes it is a must buy and does not suck.

But for any other reason you can think of, it probably is not worth more than spending $50-$75 on.

But does it suck? Not a chance. Graphics are still very impressive. Gameplay is much simpler than Blazing Star.

Its worth a whirl if you ask me.

I think PI2 is great, although a few people may say otherwise.

I really like the rescue concept. Very old-school and Choplifter-esque.

If you're into the more traditional, straight forward shmups,do give it a try.

This is actually the thing that first got me interested in the game. I have very fond memories of the original Choplifter, so to rescue people and shoot dinosaurs? Sounds pretty good.

I don't know, I like it. The dinosaurs are animated really well too. I guess I'm a sucker for any shooter that involves cool enemies. I like Sol-divide on the playstation mainly because of the bosses.

One cred????

I'm going to have to check with my neurologist...my reflexes aren't fast enough then.

But to answer the topic: it's an okay game. They tried to make the graphics a bit pretty, but it just doesn't inspire me very much. The only interesting angle is the rescue element. I would much prefer it, though, if those little people clinging onto my rescue cable got smeared on the asphalt as soon as I fly low.

great game

always thought it was shit for no reason really

easy ?

maybe

but it's all about the score,yeah ?

it's all about not getting hit while carrying hostages and not dropping them off until the end of the stage

and the x 16 bits

great game with a cool vibe to it

shame it never came out for the domestic neo

I remember seeing this game for like $8 brand new and thinking it looked interesting. I didn't have high hopes for it, but it was really good. Besides the bosses, the next best thing is the new quest mode.

I think the thing that pisses most people off about this game is the severe weakness of your projectile shot. People don't realize these are just to inflict some damage to enemies until they get close enough to be slashed by your main weapon. Once you get into the rhythm the game is fun. If you try to play it like a "normal" shooter (just shooting) you're gonna die fast and be sent to the hell of the upside down sinner.

Well, I'll be playing PI2 soon enough- buying a copy from DevilRedeemed as soon as his house remodel is finished.

Been interested for quite some time, and the opinions in this here lil' thread have convinced me that it would be worth a shot.

it's not THAT difficult, really. I was just expecting it to be much harder since Blazing Star was a bitch of a game, but there isn't any real bullshit that gets thrown at you in Prehistoric Isle 2... and if you do get in trouble, at least there's a bomb button.

It's not that bad, it's not the best out there either. I also came close to 1ccing
it, but I kinda got bored of it. I got to stage 4 with about 18million points. Ok
game.

Ahhh, so you're coming off the end of a Blazing Star session, were you? :D

I actually think that Blazing Star's first two stages is easier than the first two stages of PI2.

After that BS hands my family jewels to me on a kidney bean stick...
