Update on the astro city situation

So Mastu got a hold of me and told me that he could send a replacement control panel (just the fiberglass base) if I sent him 100 bucks plus the cost of shipping. He said that we would have to wait over a month to see any resolution from the shipping company. His plan was to take the loss on selling me the control panel base in hopes that he would get some money from the shipping company eventually.
What do you guys think? Should I spend that much cash just for the fiberglass base? I am a pretty crafty dude, so how hard is it to repair fiberglass and most importantly how good can you make it look?
This shit really sucks because I cant stand seeing my cab with that damage, but because I live in f-ing indiana a cab that should have been 425 is going to cost me over twice that after shipping and the replacement control panel.

So if he gets anything from the shipping company is he re-imbersing you? It sounds like you're pretty much stuck between a rock and a shit storm, either way you're screwed. I doubt you'd be able to repair it to your expectations, so it seems like replacing it is the only alternative. If I were in your shoes I feel like I'd get the CP because I'd just want my cab to be in one piece, but that really sucks man. Is there any way to have the shipping company re-imberse you directly?

I'd wait until the shipping company actually reimbursed him before I ordered the control panel base. What if they never reimburse?

Is the cabinet useable?

I know it's retarded you just spent $500 on something that's smashed, but you might have to live with it until they send him the money if you don't want to pay through the nose.

Just spend the $100 and get the CP. You'll be much happier with it than a repair job. Get Matsu to give you the $100 back if he does get some money back. That sounds fair to me.

Ok first let me start off by saying that Mastu is the man, period.

Though this whole mess he has sent me at least one e-mail a day updating me on the progress with the shipping company. Out of the blue yesterday he just said that he would deal with it on his own and he had ALREADY shipped a new cp and gave me the tracking number. I thought that was pretty damn cool of him considering he is probably going to have to wait for a long time before he sees anything from the shippment company.

Anyhow, I really recomend this dude...What happened to my cab SUCKED but it definetly wasnt his fault.
