here is what insertcredit said about it

Last Hope is a fan-made game for the Neo Geo home cart system, created by NG:DEV.TEAM in Germany, which will feature a soundtrack by Rafael Dyll. Here's the official site for the game - but before you get too excited, at present they're only planning to make 30-40 of these, and they'll sell for $550 USD. The general consensus is that they've not done enough research into chip prices, and could very feasibly lower this price by quite a bit. But the developers also say they've tried contacting the usual release channels to no avail. There will be a 'cheaper option' in the future, but at the moment the game is to be AES home cart only. More info as it comes!

No thanks.

I can get R-Type, R-Type 2 and R-Type Leo all together for less than $550.

(No home system anyway)

I'll pick up the DC port.

Even in neo•geo land, $550 is ridiculous.

I'll get it under 2 conditions:

1 - They make an MVS release
2 - Its less than $100

...prally just wishful thinking tho. I'll check the DC port (if there is one) before I decide if I want it or not.

There's a slim chance I'll bite since I'm really only into the Neo for its shooters, but the proposed pricing is indeed a mightly strong deterrent in this case. At the least I can say that it's "not another goddamned fighting game."

The project sounds interesting and all, but I will never shell out $550 for a homebrew game, no way.

I gotta wait until there is a cheaper option like Dreamcast. Cant see myself spending that much cash on a game, good or not.

Define "homebrew". If this were a decade ago SNK would have bit. Just because the system is past its prime doesn't make a game less worth while.

Look at small japanese companies... GRev, etc. 1-4 people. How are those games any less "homebrew". I'm not saying those games may be your thing, but they are definitely better than many games made by multi-million dollar entertainment factories. The logic behind your opinion is slightly insulting.

Even if it is dumped, I will support just about any new release just as long as it is good. It doesn't look that bad from the screen shots. The graphics could use a little work but other than that - it looks to have promise.
