Just thought I would like to share my latest find. I managed to find some good stuff at the latest Super Auctions here in DFW. I am happy to add my purchases of an Astro City, Naomi Universal and Showcase 33 cabinets to my existing Neo 29 Candy Cabinet. All of these cabinets are working 100% but I will be modifying them to suit my applications. The Astro City came with a Taito F3 MB w/ unknown JPN game. It will be modded with a CPS-2 kick harness and 6 button control panel and become my dedicated CPS-2/3 cabinet. The Naomi Universal came with Naomi MB and GD-ROM drive with Virtua Tennis. It will be modded with 5 button control panel so that it can play my Atomiswave games. The Showcase 33 came with Naomi MB and Capcom vs SNK. It will be modded with a 6 button control panel. All joysticks and buttons will be replaced with new Sanwa and Seimitsu joysticks and buttons. Below are some pics of the cabinets as they have been received. Some of the door locks had to be drilled out since no keys were given on the Asto City and Showcase 33. This has been somewhat difficult and time consuming and I hope that I don't have to ever do this again. All of the wiring will either be replaced or redone. Finally, they will all get a good cleaning so that they are back to mint condition. Questions and comments are welcomed.

I was very glad that this auction finally got some good stuff to pick from. I guess alot of the people there just didn't know what they were passing up. Luckly for me, I made out like a bandit this time around. The only pain was transporting them back home. That Naomi Universal is one heavy SOB. Total cost of renting a Uhaul truck and gas was $82. You can't beat that for shipping cost.

Whatever dude. I didn't want to disclose that information so that is why I stated it is a secret. If you want to be a jerk then do what you want.

It's public information, it's not a secret.

Don't be an ass about it. I know you're trying to flip a profit, but don't be outraged, it's a fucking auction.

I am not the one being an ass. You are the one that is chiming in with the attitude. Regardless, I will let it be so do as you wish.

You said something, which I refuted, then you turn into a whiny bitch about it. Sorry, but don't expect any sympathy. The results are public and the only reason you'd be pissed is if you're trying to turn a major profit on it or rip someone off.

If you don't want inquiries or to be called out about the price, don't fucking mention it.

VanillaThunder, I guess you just liking being a jerk. I never asked or needed any sympathy from anyone especially from you. I never mentioned anything about pricing and it was gamejunkie that inquried about it. If you actually took the time to read my posts, you would already know that these cabinets are for my personally use so "trying to turn a major profit on it or rip someone off" is not even applicable. Just because I chose to keep information dislosed does not make me a "whiny bitch." Respond how you want or do what you want, I am through responding to you.

Thanks demirichris. Sorry to hear about your CP. Hopefully all will be resolved to your satisfaction. Let me know if you want to get rid of the chipped CP once your issue is resolved. I may be able to repair the damage.

Hey what a coincidence! A friend of mine just picked up a US Naomi cabinet exactly like that. When we got it to his house, we didn't realize how freakin' big it was! We managed to get it in the front door but for some reason his doors don't seem to be the standard 32-33 inches so it wouldn't fit into any of the rooms. The only place it would fit was in the living room since there's no doors. Of course his wife said "Oh hell NO!!!" so it's sitting in his garage right now

3xChaos, I know exactly how you guys feel. It barely cleared my front door and I have a slightly larger front doors than the norm. If you haven't already tried, the control panel can be removed via 4 nuts located on the inside of the CP. This should give you more clearance to fit through your doors.

Thanks, but we're already 12 steps ahead of you. The CP was removed (It's kind of cool since it's completely enclosed) so I was thinking of making it into a supergun type setup using just the CP. We also removed the monitor and tried to dissassemble the cabinet in various places. I've moved hundreds of cabinets before but this one has me scratching my head. Regardless of what we do it's not going to fit in any of the doors to the bedrooms. Definitely not made for home use

Meanbean you suck! :glee:

HAHAHAHAHA!

I was wanting to go to that auction, but my friend only had last weekend to take me deer hunting out at his ranch so I went to take my aggressions out on Bambi. Needless to say, he's at the processors now being turned into smoked German sausages, summer sausage, and salami.

Nice cabs tho - can you tell i'm jealous? :envy:

channelmaniac, I'm glad you didn't make it out since that allowed me to have less competing bids. :D Regardless, you will be able to enjoy that delicious sausage soon so that it some consolation. They actually had a serval JPN cabinets there including the Astro City. The others were a Neo Geo MVS-U4 and a Capcom Swing.

Hell, I got a few right now I need to finish fixing before I go buy more...

Combatribes (in an old Xenophobe cab) - New marquee light and recapped/resoldered up the monitor. Beautiful picture but too wide on the screen. Having a hell of a time finding a replacement width coil for the WG4900 series monitor. Happ doesn't have it. As soon as I get that installed the game is ready to sell.

Pole Position - Rebuilt the power supply, recapped the monitor & fixed cracked solder, made a new gear shift bezel, new locks, new marquee light, and replaced 2 bad SRAMs on the logic board. Still need to replace a square of plywood on the bottom & the missing levelling foot and zap the CRT with the rejuvenator.

Kangaroo - in great working condition now and ready to sell. (rebuilt power supply, recapped/resoldered and replaced a bad transistor and diode in the monitor, new joystick, new locks, new marquee light)

Sega Turbo Outrun - the game from hell... - Replaced power supply, replaced a burned connector on the logic board, recapped/resoldered monitor but the CRT ended up being trash so I replaced the monitor with a spare that I reworked. Now troubleshooting a sound problem and the video board suddenly lost all the background graphics. Yuck. Still need a monitor bezel for it and I'll be replacing the control panel with one off of a donor Power Drift cabinet.

Neo Geo 1-slot cabinet - In storage. Need to recap/resolder the monitor on it. Rest of it should be fine. Need to finish & sell of a couple of the other games to make room to bring it out of storage for repair.

Too many hobbies at one time I guess. Part of the garage is full of my networking study lab and the parts for my race car. DOH!

Now I just need to be a post whore so I can get to 100 posts and be able to post in the buy/sell section.
