How does one open a home cart, my copy of king of fighters 96 has something rattling around inside and I want to get it out,
Are there screws under the label or is there some secret that I'm unaware of.

Anyway, it's probably a small piece of plastic broken off, but has anyone had a cart damaged by something like that, or is it better just to level it alone.

Don't worry about it. You're more likely to damage the cart by opening it and it's almost certainly just one of the tabs has snapped. Nothing major and it won't affect the cart at all.

Don't be worried by that.

Out of all the homecarts I own, only one doesn't rattle - The Last Blade.

I'm not sure why so many rattle, but it is nothing to worry about.

They certainly can be opened. There are retaining tabs held in tension the keep the two halves together.

I'm not sure where they are located on the sides and knowing my luck I would probably break them or tear the sticker if I ever attempted to open one. :loco:

They are easy to open, once you have done your first one the rest are easy..there are no screws or glue just plastic clips down each side..it is a case of bending and pushing in the sides of the cart and it will pop apart... if you are lucky no clips will be broken..
I have had to open a few newer carts due to them being fat in the middle and not fitting the slot in my Neo..

Don't worry, there'R practically no risks in opening a cart (except if it's boot that has MX Flash eproms, don't let it in the light... but the boots 're + rare for AES carts)...
