Discharging a Television. Is it the same as discharging an Arcade Monitor?

So I've done my research regarding discharching monitors. If I decide to take a television monitor tube out of the tv shell, do I need to discharge it like I would a monitor, before handling it? I may try to mount it into a cab, without the outer shell. I'm guessing a TV is designed similarly to an Arcade Monitor.

YES! I took out a tv tube and put it my cab and had to discharge it.

Dude you can build one for a lot less than $80. Analog Devices will even send you 2 "sample" rgb encoder chips for FREE. The rest of the parts are pretty cheep too....

I like the convenience of buying one. I barely have time to put a cab together. Another member purchased one for eighty something with shipping. Can't remember which thred it was posted in.
