I'm not sure if someone's posted about this before, but I was watching the anime series Mezzo and noticed a Neo Geo reference in the scenery. The series came out in 2003, which was way past Neo Geo's heyday, so I thought it was pretty interesting.

Have you guys ever spotted any other random Neo references in movies, TV shows, etc.?

I saw a neo cab in the backround on Full House a couple weeks ago. I didn't get a look at any of the games on it, just the top of the cab with the giant NEO GEO logo.

Full House = :buttrock:

Don't forget about Nick Arcade in the early 90s with its goofy host and early era SNK games. I always look to see if the contestants pick the neo games first to play before I shut the show off and most of the time they do.

Drove an hour to see them this summer in Lancaster, PA. They didn't come to Philly until the album was released and I was in Japan then so it worked out good. Briefly talked to AC Newman, his niece, and the rest of the band after the show when they sold their stuff afterwards (No Neko Case :( though.) they made change for the stuff they were selling with money in their wallets which I thought was pretty funny.

Ah, I remember that show! I used to watch it all the time when it first came on TV. Since I was really young (and I didn't know about the magic of green screens...) I actually thought it was real. I always thought "How can they be transported into a game?? That's so cool!", but then I began to wonder why the contestants always stared somewhere off-camera instead of looking where they were going.

As for the arcade games featured in the show, I remember they always had Actraiser and R-Type, and some goofy "Post Haste" game.

... and Robo Army. They almost always had that.

I always laughed at the people who couldn't figure out how to run through the loop in Sonic the Hedgehog, though. :)

Yeah, noticed it the other week. Looks like it's similar to my cab.

Adamaki, do you ever come back to the Loughborough area? If so let me know and we can have a few games on my cab.

Yeah that would be good, cheers mate! It'd be nice to play against someone who knows how to play neo geo. I've only ever played the cpu or mates who have never played before and don't care about it.

Do you use msn messenger? pm me your addy if you do and we can arrange something.

Yeah the neo cab pops up briefly every week in eastenders.
onve when alfie and cat were having a serious discussion in the cafe, the machine was right behind them and you could see super sidekicks on the demo screen, but its constantly changing as there was some type of shoot up on it last time i saw it, i always make a point of looking out for it when i watch eastenders.

i use to try hard to see if i could see a neo geo in the arcade scene in terminator 2 but not luck.

i remember 1 christmas when the amstrad gx 4000 was virtually dead and a regular in eastenders got it for a present and they kept showing them play it. the racing car game. it was the lamest excuse to advertise a machine i ever seen,

lol I bet they change the games regularly to keep the cast entertained when they're not shooting the show. I wonder who the neo geo fans are in the cast...

Yeah, I remeber seeing one of the Sidekicks games on it a while back. Would be good if I was part of the cast, I'd take in my MVS carts :kekeke:
