My personal favorite.

Nothing flashy. Just one pure and simple badass artwork. I also loved the "Geese Howard must go" sentence that went along with it.

All of Shinkiro's art for SNK was impressive. His work gave SNK games a completely different feel from the Capcom fighters. SNK fighters aslways seemed more "real" to me, mostly because of Shinkiro's art.

I agree 100%. Capcoms art always had a more anime look to it, where as SNKs was more like portrait. Even in CvS2 you can tell the difference.

Yeah, its refreshiing to see a Japanese artist do something besides anime, exagerrated features, etc.

So Shinkiro's that SNK artist who's been doing everything I love...why did SNKP go with Falcoon?

Last Blade. Best artwork ever.

I'm weary of getting rid of my LB1 kit just because I love the art so much. My LB2 bare cart is the one always in my cab though.

I have always loved SNK's artwork over Capcom's. They are both awsome however... Capcom has a lot of talent.

I have seen some real shitty SNK art though, no idea who did it... seemed like it was all the same style, so maybe its just one artist I dont like.

I love the simplicity of the AOF3 cover. Chars and logo against white BG.

That SSVS wallpaper with the 4 bosses kick ass, too.

and there's and art in a artbook, with all SNK girls on it, fucking awesome.

Favourite though has to be the entire MOTW MVS set - flyers, stickers and mm are all superb.

Last year's San Diego Comic Con had Shinkiro as a guest to help promote a Street Fighter book or something. I didn't go but gave my SNK Posters Collection book to a friend to get signed. The deal was if you get an SF book you can get that plus 1 more item signed I believe. My friend told me that when he handed the SNK Posters Collection book to Shinkiro he was a bit shocked at first then he slowly looked through the whole book with a little smile of nostalgia. I thought that was priceless. :)

Euro Fatal fury 2 cover.

Back in the days I always found SNK's artwork more mature than SF. It still is really. Much more realistic and the clothing style of a lot of the fighters added to that.

imo, snk's art with shinkiro was amazing, and lately have going down with games' art like KOF NeoWave, or Metal Slug 4 and 5, but in many anothers like NeiGeoBattleColliseum or SSV the art its different but still Really good, personally (i'm or trying to be an illustrator) i find the NBC art very inspirator, but my personal favorite is the FatalFury3 insert.

This has to be one of the best inserts released for an AES game.

Why, I don't know, but KOF97's cover art always blew me away.

I love the black and white portraits on the KoF2002 AES case. The ones on the back are larger, but I can only find a link to the front image. I don't really care for K's drawing, but just the faces of Vice, Mature, Billy, Yashiro, Chris and Shermie blow me away. I love the style and the realism of them. Anyone know who did those? All props to Shinkiro, but I like how they all don't look like the same person. Although Vice and Chris are still very similar.

That's Hiroaki.

He goes head to head with Shinkiro as far as best SNK artist goes IMO.

His B1 artwork is completely different than his KOF'00-'02 stuff which is completely different than his XI stuff.

It's really hard to tell if it's the same guy sometimes, but he just puts out awesome illustrations constantly.
