Another sound question on the MVS 4-slot?

I just bought a 4-slot motherboard and I noticed that the sound is all jacked up. When going through the set up, if you select the right speaker, they both play and when you select the left speaker, they both play. When you select the center, neither speaker works. Playing games like Magical drop 3 and last blade 3 are a trip, there is sound but no voices? I thought it might br the Jamma harness but my SVC Chaos PCB works awsome. I had a problem with a six slot before where it was only playing in mono, but it was never like this. Is this common with four slots? Right now I am waiting for the guy I bought this from to source me another 4-slot. Just curious as to if anyone has had any experience with this happening to them?
Thanks-

IMO your wiring is messed up/not wired up right..I had a problem like this in my Candy cab when I changed around some ground wires..That affected the speakers.
I'm pretty sure my SVC pcb works in mono and stereo..it switches the sound itself-loops..as I've plugged it in a mono and stereo cab and it worked fine..
You have to make sure you are wired up for Stereo MVS.

Thanks- I checked the wiring and everything seems to be in order. I really think something might be wrong with the motherboard. Is there any other way to check the board itself? If it is somehow the wiring, I am going to be stuck with the same problem even with a new board.
Thanks for your help.

I'd say if you have access to another MVS wired up cab you could test the board..or meet up with someone from this board that has a cab/that could test it for you.

I had the same problem you were having and thought the 4 slot mobo in my Candy had went screwy..but I caused it by changing the location of a ground wire at the ground end of the harness.
.......after healingly figuring out what I did I fixed it..One ground wire being in the wring spot made my mobo do what yours is doing

Are you wired up for MVS Stereo or Jamma..

Well, I looked through the manuals and looked at my wiring to see if it matched. Sure enough, it looked like it was but it was'nt. I re-wired the harness and now it is playing beautifully. The weird thing is that this is or was a factory harness in a dedicated neo candy cab. I wonder why it was wired up in mono? Do all candy cabs come wired in mono? Now that I have re-wired it, Will I have to change it back to play non neo-geo/MVS games? My SVC Chaos PCB sounds the same as it did before I wired it which is weird. The SCV PCB should be the same set up as any other basic Jamma connected game correct? I have some other PCB's coming soon, I hope they work with the new wiring as well. Thanks again for your help.

Also, The manual says that the 56 pin connecting harness and the Jamma harness are different, does anyone know what the difference is?

Just slightly different placement of some of the functions.

just find pictures on the web of a jamma pinout, and then compare it to the pinout on one of the MVS manuals at hardmvs.com

Chris 1,
Thanks for the wiring diagram! I don't know where you found that, but it rocks.
After looking at it, I believe that the cab came wired for Jamma and not MVS. That still seems weird to me that they would wire a dedicated mvs cab in Jamma. I do not remember my last cab being wired like that. I am also pretty damn sure that this harness was origninal and unmodified. The harness was however wired for six button with a kick harness and had no select button. The guy I bought it from put the select button in it. Well, I don't know, I guess I will see what will happen when I hook up a Jamma dedicated board to this harness. I should'nt blow anything up I hope? The only noticeable differences are that the Jamma has the -5volt pin but I think that was there. The fact that this harness never had a select pin or right audio positive and a test pin, makes me believe that this was indeed a jamma harness. We will see!
Thanks again for all of your help.

The 1 slots earlier and later were all 100% JAMMA compatible.,

2,4,6 slots were the stereo viariation with the test switch in a different spot.

So the cabinet was most likely a 1 slot vcabinet.

Yep, that would make sence. Now that I think about it, it did'nt have the 4 card slot marque on top, rather it had a single large marque. Thanks for the info, you guys rock!
