Who has cabs that look like hell on the inside?

I take great pride in how my cabs look, sound and play. But, when it comes to the insides of them, I could give two craps less. You should see the wiring job on some of my buttons, and even the games themselves. My tekken 4 is just laying around, as is the jamma board, and the wires in my Street Fighter are a nightmare. Wires everywhere. But, on the outside? Beautiful! Anyone like me that doesn't mind the inside looking like the ghetto, as long as the outside is super sharp?

Some of my cabs could stand a little vacuuming of the insides, but none of them are horribly dirty. I was working on a cab tonight when I noticed how dusty some of the wiring is. I was lazy/forgot about it and didn't clean it up before putting the cab back in its spot. My first cabinet's JAMMA harness was a total rats nest before I decided to de-convert it and took the JAMMA wiring out.

My candy was covered in an easy 0.5cm thick dust on the out side and the inside was even worse, cleaned the out side, cleaned the fluro tube area, cleaned around monitor, cleaned the CP and basically did everything I could to clean it on the outside and the easier to get to inside places and then basically left the the areas I couldn't get to without taking the whole thing apart.

Still I won't be 100% satisfied until this cab is stripped down to bits and each part cleaned.

I've only got one cab and the night that I got it, my friend and I scrubbed that thing down like there was no tomorrow. Inside and out. Cabinets go through hell in an arcade environment, it's the least you can do to give them a thorough cleaning.

Just got a Dynamo 25" monitor cab w/X-Men: COTA CPS-2 in it today, looks very clean inside, so no cleaning will be required. On the other hand, my Neo conversion cab looked like a retirement home for mice and spiders inside, and even the wiring was grimy. I have begun to clean up the coin mechs, and will get around to cleaning the innards as best I can. I used compressed air on the chassis boards for the monitor when I changed the caps, and I still have to get the rust off the inside of the metal CP and paint it. I doubt this cab will ever look very nice inside, however. There's enough to do with its exterior; by the time I get done with that, I doubt I'll be too worried about the interior. At least whoever did the conversion to MVS did a neat job of wiring from the JAMMA harness, so there aren't cables dangling loose all over the place.

Eh, my Neo 4 slot used to be pretty bad. Masking tape holding wires together, solder everywhere. Id get shocked each time I touched it, but i got fed up with it, learned some more about arcades, rewired EVERYTHING in that cab, and now everything is super ziptied like every 6 inches, organized, and super clean.
My CPS-2 cab is kind of messy right now. No control panel, metal shaving all throughout it, needs a new monitor, and its such a small cab, i had to mount the board to the underbelly of the Monitor chasis. Gotta do what you gotta do though. At least the wirings clean.

Nope..
I'm pretty picky when it comes to have wiring neat in the cabs............. and them clean inside..

When I got the Converted Klax cab it was wired nice but not nice enough for me so I redid the whole thing..
The Cab still has Galaga parts in it that I chose not to remove and is just an old machine..

My Tekken 3 cab however I had to put in the missing coin door parts to make it complete so some wiring sat(IMO messy) until I got the parts.
That cab has so much room in it that I store PCBs and kits in it..

My astrocity's control panel is nothing but a giant tangle of wires.

My dad nearly screamed in horror when he saw it. I do plan on rewiring it, when I can pick up a 2p control panel for it.

My Astro City 2 wiring is pretty clean/tidy, but over the years someone must have split a soda or two on the CP, as the panel is rusting undeneath, and mold on the inside of the cab. One of these days I'll get around to gutting it completely to clean it out.

My New Astro looks like someone spilt coke or something similar on the CP, it's rusing on the inside, only a little though around the edges but it was enough to put a fucking rust stain into the plastic :crying:

Yes, zipties are god. I am working on my Dynamo 25", and right now the cabinet is an empty shell (I'm gonna go sand down the side after I type this). I've got all the wiring out, labeled, and ready to go back in as soon as the shell is done. Gotta patch the sides, sand it down, and repaint.

Ahh, I remember when I first got my mvs 4slot three years ago. I took about two hours to clean it inside and out. I didn't bother to cover over the cigarette burns, of course, to keep that authentic arcade feel. :)

both my candy cabs were gorgeous on the inside....until I rewired them a couple times...once for the Hyper 64 rev. 1, and again for the MGCD which requires you re-wire your ground wires :very_ang: and one of them has a Capcom AUX harness spliced in as well....not attractive.

so, both my JAMMA harnesses look crappy
