I can't seem to get something right with this stupid CDROM cable, so I'm wondering if anyone happens to have the official headphone harness(or can hook me up with a reasonable facsimile thereof) for a MV-4F.

Thanks.

I can get you the one I got and am using (from CompUSA). LMK what's up. I can bring mine with me to work tomorrow (@ the Trop/Pecos store) to show you how it's connected, too.

That's coo. I also realized I could be doing this entirely differently.

I'm trying to wire it to a headphone out jack... But, I'm looking at something that uses an RCA jack for a connector and I'm thinking I can just connect it using RCA, since that's what CPS2 uses, and I'm planning on putting a CPS2 in my cab someitme soon anyway...

btw, congrats on 330th post! :buttrock:

The only official Headphone harness is the External Memory card reader combo.

On my MiniMVS of Doom, it's running to a headphone jack to a cheapass pair of PC speakers. when I've got a CPS2 board connected to it, I run RCA -> female headphone -> male/male headphone adapter to the same pair of cheapass speakers.

Thx for the comment on 330 posts! (maybe I'll post in the warroom to get it back...)

That's what I'm afraid of.

In the case that even this doesn't work, what would this run me?

I have one available, complete with all wiring. Make me an offer. Bear in mind that I sold the last one of these I had for £50 plus shipping.

Holy crap. Xe.com says 86 bucks. 86 bucks!? Yeah, I'll take my chances with solder and wire...

I think this is what you want right?

If you want, I could make you one just like it for say $5 plus shipping... or, you could buy the parts, and I'll tell you how to make it... it's pretty simple... one cdrom audio cable, two rca jacks, 4 bits of wire, and some solder... that's it. I have this hooked up to my onkyo hts780 and it sounds amazing... especially the second Garou motw intro song... by far my favorite song for the neo-geo right now.

You can also use a power cable for a 3.5 Floppy Drive.

Most PC's have two such cables and no PC in this day requires two. Or take one off an old PSU.........

I cut mine out of my PC for such project.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, but I know how to wire it. I was trying to wire it to a headphone cable connector.

I'll give it a try this weekend.

You can get the right connector (already wired) directly from the manufacturer and shipped to you for FREE. I'll give you the info tomorrow, if you can wait.

I used acd-rom cable,3 wire connector twistbolts type things, red ones, that basically have 3 parts,2 caps, and the center.Basically you run the wire you need to have connected trough one caps hole, then screw that cap to the center part, then do the other wire the same way,and its connected, easy and simple.
Basically you need to connect teh ground wires, usually black or its the wire covering the smaller red or white one in a RCA type wire, and then connect the red to red, white to white. Its basically all color coded, and if you have to,do it with the power running, its not going to shock you,and this way you can check for audio output. You should turn the audio up half way on the ear phone jack,so its not too strong a output.
