Couple of Question on modding an AES.

I guess I am lucky enough to purchase an unmolested U.S. AES with a low serial number of 15,000. From this number I guess it means that I have the best picture quality available and ALSO while using the Phantom-1 converter the scaling will work, hopefully.

Anyway, about 2 years ago I had a Japanese AES that had J Kurtz mods, the older ones of just Stereo and S-Video. These mods worked well on my regular TV although the audio signal was VERY low, like it wasn’t amped and I had to turn the TV to almost full blast to get a decent volume. When I hooked up the AES S-Video to my Toshiba HDTV the picture was WAY off, very purplish pink and many flashes and pops of glitches but they were consistent. If I used the OEM cable to run composite it worked fine.

I am looking to mod my AES once again, with the latest Neo BOTZ board and of course the latest BIOS board and even a cute lil’ power light.

Anyway are there certain TV’s that are NOT compatible with these mods, and if so are there ways around it? I simply want the BEST picture available and I feel that using the HDTV inputs on my TV would add the best picture and I hope MVS quality. I have a Toshiba CRT HDTV.

I was also wondering if adding the COAX sound would add anything to the sound in terms of quality or would it just be a waste?

Thanks in advance guys.
