What's the best way to play PS2 on a vga monitor?
My budget isn't that big so I'd like an affordable solution.

Thanks in advance,

Here's the problem: The PS2 doesn't do progressive scan in all games.

So, you're going to need a scan converter. They aren't too expensive, but you're looking at stuff that's more expensive than a simple component->vga box.

Ideally, you'd want to do a RGB (SCART)->VGA conversion, for the best quality. You're talking a not insignificant amount of money for it though.

You can use something like this and get pretty decent results. Not as crisp as true VGA, but good enough for the price.

The XRGB2plus should be good (but it's over $200). Besides, I don't know if you need Japanese RGB for them or not (all my RGB cables are Euro).

Has anyone made some pics of the cheaper VGA upscan convertors for PS2? I'll mainly use them because my pc monitor can turn 90 degrees, which is perfect for TATE mode with shooters.

Is the VGA better than RGB on my TV when using those cheaper upscanners?
