New Posting Rules:

[EDITOR'S NOTE: By 2003, the relationship between the NeoStore was the sole distributer of the English Neo-Geo home cartridges. As a result of this official relationship, the allowances for certain problem issues (like ROMs or bootlegs) were curtailed. In the midst of all of this, the following thread appeared on the forums.]

After extensive negotiation between Shawn, Playmore, and the lawyers representing NGF; we have been able to draft the following new posting rules:

1) Disparaging remarks about Playmore will now be punished with a demerit system. Anyone making negative comments about Playmore, SNK NeoGeo USA, or any other related companies will recieve ONE red Neo-Geo mark under their Member # for each individual remark. More than 10 demerits and you will be banned for a week. Repeated offenders will be banned for life.

2) Any remotely critical post about the NeoStore will be grounds for immediate deletion. All prices in the NeoStore are to be deemed, at worst, "reasonable." (Incidently, the NeoStore will be moving into a new quasi-independent "sub-store" on Amazon.com. We will have the page up by the end of the week and all the links corrected)

3) As per out-of-court settlement, no NGF bashing will be allowed or tolerated. Those bashing NGF will be immediately banned and deleted.

4) After 2 years, Neo-Geo.com and ON.com will be merging again. This time it will work. And dissent will be met with bans, suspensions, and deletions.

5) Playmore has asked us to allow ROM and Emulation posts. It turns out that they do help them make up the massive costs of producing games.

6) You will all be happy and appreciative of being on this website. If you cannot, you will be deleted.

7) Grudgingly to the author, all political speech in Unrelated will stop immediately, and the followinng Forums will be gradually phased out: Unrelated Topics, The War Room, Suggestions, and the Selling Forums.

We hope this will make for a much happier posting experience.

Wow, I can't think of a more comprehensive list of ways to drop traffic/postings on this site to zero.

Half of those rules are waaaaay too Gestapo for the mods to not have to spend "all day, every day" making account deletions. Not allowed to criticize stuff? Wow, those guys must have really thin skin if saying "I didn't really like Game X, I think they should try harder" would get you banned :)

Lies by themselves are frowned upon. Lies for the purpose of comedy (jokes) aren't. The intent is not to permanently fool anyone. It's not like people are using April Fools to convince you that someone died and then NEVER revealing that someone didn't die. Heck, I doubt people would even use it to joke about death at all.

Nah, I don't stew. I just tell it to people like it is. Telemarketer calls in and mispronounces my name, I tell him to give me his home phone number so I can call back and return the favor of harassing him. I am a little more forgiving to the female ones. If they find my request for a blowjob offensive, I find their request for my time and money equally offensive. :p

It still doesn't change the fact that April Fool's is a worthless day when you have even less trust in people that usually so. Like I said, it'd be nice to have a Truth Day, or hell maybe even a Truth Year. Does that mean you'd get in trouble for being wrong? loco How exactly would it work? I thought people were supposed to be honest most of the time. If you're concerned about honesty in general then you shouldn't be complaining about this day. Telling jokes and dishonesty are far different. Also, telling harmful jokes is bad, of course. April Fools is supposed to be a day for harmless jokes as far as I know. Anyone doing differently is not following the rules and thus it's unfair to blame that on this day. Blame it on the idiots.
