It could be because it's still cached in your computer. Hold SHIFT and press RELOAD(REFRESH) that tells the browser to update it from the server directly..it may change it. If it doesn't...*shrug* don't worry about it.

GamersAbyss is certainly not gone yet. Apparently his ops were never removed and he remains in control. Furthermore, General_Hanzo continues to hold the position of chat room founder for room #neo-geo.

how does shawn know if a ban length is acceptable or not? he wasn't there, he didn't ask for another side of the story. the ops are the ones that decide what a proper limit is, and in this case, you agreed with it.

the main problem is that those complaining about the channel have no experience with chans on efnet or dalnet, where bullshit isn't taken....at all. when you get people running a channel that are from that type of environment, that's what will filter into a channel. without those people running your channel, it will fall apart.

so my suggestion is that shawn pick a couple of kids outta the kiddie pool to op a chan that can be overrun with takeover attempts, lame flame wars, etc.

Hello Everyone,
It's about almost 6am in the morning and I'm seeing that a lot of heat is still going on.

How do I feel about a lot of things right now about this isn't important. I will come out with how this originally started and you can all decide from there how you feel about it.

This whole incedent started on 09/11/01. I'm sure everyone here knows what that date means.

A lot of innocent people died that day and even now this country is still reeling from the actions of terriosts & the senseless loss of life of people who honestly didn't do anything to deserve the deaths they got.

I remember a lot of heated slurs were thrown around on these forums that day and some members were wrongly attacked because they were seen as easy targets for their anger.

Now of course this spilled over into chat where a lot of people felt the need to vent their anger in an open and live place.

I'm not going to say I agreed with GamersAbyss's Ragheadkiller nick becuase I didn't. I'll give you a bit of history about this guy so maybe you can understand where he comes from. GA is the son of a militray family.

I am also the son of such a family and as such learned to take pride in my country.

My temperment is a lot different than GA's so I reacted differently to this whole thing.
GA is a proud american and nobody on these forums has refuted that at all. GA of course acted without thinking and mad the RagHeadKiller nick. He of course did change it but he was mad because someone came in chat an in the open ordered him to change it when a more...peaceful options would have been to privatly speak to him and tell him to please remove it.

This didn't happen & of course it's now OCt and this is still being brought up. If you must know GA's anger I should point out that he has a right to it as such as many people do because he lost a family member who got killed in the WTC attack.

Now going on from here this boils down to something Shawn had asked me to do which was BAN GA from chat.

It was the 1st time I ever disobeyed an order from Shawn. Ever. My reasons Shawn knows but I'll tell you them as well. I said this before, A lot of people were furious about the WTC attack and nobody was thinking straight.

In regards to this I knew this was not normally how a lot of people acted and as such I decided that on Sept 11th 2001. That any and all actions could be forgiven and no harsh actions should be taken.

Moving on to a few days ago GA had finally started his own chatroom in regards he wanted to not have to worry about Shawn saying anything to him.

It should also be noted that Shawn & GA haven't spoken to each other since this time on Sept 11th.

Now not too long ago a few people were in GA's room and as such he had made them mods. Who you might ask?

NSR & Yamazakasgal.

Now of course things were going great but one day NSR & her got into it. I read some of the logs *finally* and suffice to say it wasn't pretty.

It ended up with GA caught in the middle of their lover's quarrel which it should be noted that GA didn't once fire a kick in that channel at all.

Now then foward sometime later and Shawn gets a few emails from these 2 complaining about stuff happening in chat. Shawn comes into see what the problem is and GA was currently not there but in his own channel where this fight took place.

GA comes into the room & Shawn and him for a better lack of the word go at it. The people who saw what was said can better describe this but seeing as both him & GA got into it until about 7am in the morning I didn't feel like mucking through the mess.

Now then where does this go from here?

Well I will come out & say that NSR & Yamazakisgal played both me & Shawn for idiots. Neither of us were there so we don't know what happened.

A few others like Bugula & NeoTurfMasta SAW what happened and this explains why they are here expalining what happened in chat.

Now NSR I wrote an email & apoogized for actions done in chat because I had thought this was in #Neo-Geo.

It wasn't it was in GA's own channel #Videogamers. Any of you who knows IRC the golden rule. Any shit that goes down in one channel should not be spread to another.

NSR & Yamazakisgal LIED in their emails to Shawn and manipulated us into think GA had made threats on their lives and Yama was saying she feared for her life so much that she didn't want to come back into chat.


If NSR is reading this I'm going to tell you that you were pretty fucking stupid bragging about having GA's Ops taken. Real stupid. You DON'T do stupid shit like foward my apology email to you to GA and then Taunt him with it. <IMG SRC="smilies/mad2.gif" border="0">

The gist of this misunderstanding comes to this. Shawn & me were both fed a load of bullshit emails and we both acted on things in chat without thinking and seeing the whole picture.

It comes down to also explaining that nobody likes to admit that they made a mistake. I've made many of my own which people have tried to sling in my face but it never works on me because I will be the 1st person to tell you I came out and did it.

Also someone brought this up but I never made a big deal out of it because for the most part I didn't care what anyone had to think. Those who know me understand I'm not a guy who likes or can be manipulated easy & if I do get used I usually ctach it pretty god damn fast.

I was offered to be a mod over at !Arcade!'s BBS. I took the position and am now 1n charge of Cross Platform gaming.

It was pointed out to me that maybe I was hiding this yet any of you who visited !Arcade!'s website will see my introduction to that section and my words regarding this issue.

In the end a lot more was told above about what happened and there is a LOT of shit said in the background which none of you are truly aware of.

My only feelings in this is that I am mad at Shawn for jumping the gun and trying to take action when seeing as he hardly visits chat anymore should have consulted me 1st. If he had I promise I would have had this this whole mess exposed of what NSR & yama did instead of the trolling bullshit those two did.

The only thing Shawn can be blamed for is his trying to force his orders on someone without due reason and not thinking about what his actions in the future might bring.

I knew that anything from the getgo would be takenout of context & or used on me in one way or another so I have remained silent until now.

I was told by many MANY people that I had 100% right to tear Shawn's ass a new one and yet I haven't done so.

Why?

Shawn is a good seller and has a great site. He has helped the Neo Scene be centralized in one place and this little spat that came up becuase of what he did should be forgivn & letgo.

I'm not going to say I didn't want to tear Shawn a new one because I was totally pissed becuase he wouldn't address the things I had shown as proof of his action in chat being the wrong thing.

In the end GA's ops were taken wrongly and as such I would be a shitty person if I let myself buckle to the demands of a higher power when that power is wrong...

I'll probably post more on this but, I felt that some of this had to be aired for the sake of truth.....

Well, you said all that could be said on the subject IMO... I truely think that this case is closed now. It's obvious we can speak out about what happend until we're blue in the face, but the simple fact is, nothing is going to change from it.

I see this as a case closed. Shawn opened up his own room, that he can run as he sees fit. He's happy, I know a lot of people in chat are happy, so let it be.

All the explaining in the world won't work here. After all the shit that has been said by both sides, there is no way that the chat will go back to the way it used to be... nor will this change the way some people think.
