Do they have a single USB-enabled microprocessor? or are they more complex? I'm thinking of building a large device consisting of a bunch of those to make a sort of anything->PC converter, but first I need to know how the hell the companies make 'em work first. Don't want to go too far only to figure out that each device would cost $50 and take a year of work straight to complete. I'm an experienced C programmer and have worked with small-scale microprocessors before; is there some sort of device that would work especially well for decoding and reencoding multiple signal types from different controllers? The programming, as I said, is no matter. I just need to know if hardware exists for this. Would it be best to make a bunch of little pad->usb converters, put 'em all on an integrated hub, and slam it in a box? Or would it be more practical to get a powerful chip and make it do all the types of controllers?

Are you looking to Use PSX controllers on a PC?

If So:
They already have those (PSII VERSION) for like $10 ea..........
Buy one and take it apart.

Mine works Great... I use it with a hacked up Doller PSX pad and generic Pinout...

But it's about as fun as playing teh Romz.
