Hi. Does anyone here work on the Sega CDX system? I have sent it off to Canada, to a well know repair person, and they said they can't fix it. I was just wondering if someone here can take a look at it for me? I does not reconize the CD games, but the cartridge games play great.
Thanks,
Tony

And I've *confirmed* it won't read with a new laser installed. It spins up, but seems stuck in an endless stream of jitter. With it's stock laser, and with a new one as well.

I suspect a board level issue, that is outside my experience.

I'm hoping to find someone that may know of this problem, and may know the fix. You are a great system tech, and I don't think that I will find someone with more experiance on this matter than you, but with all the people that do the other system upgrades, who knows? Thanks again,
Tony

Exactly why I added some more specifics. I too would like to learn more, and if someone else has ideas to add, I'd love to hear them too.

No offense taken at all. :)

That's what happens when you use a CDX with a 32x

I just wonder just how far they go with parts for $55. For all I know they are sitting on so many CDX parts it's not funny.

The new CDX lasers I have cost a good chunk of $55. If they have new unused optics over there, I gotta admit that's a good deal.

I checked with them before I e-mailed omnedon, and they told me that they no longer work on CDX systems. On one of the other form's, someone asked them if they work on Sega CD systems, and were told no. I can't belive that they won't work on the CD system.
