After doing a bit of research, it seems fairly straighgt forward to use the rgb encoder on a genesis for other projects. I have a spare model one genesis sitting here and I am considering converting it to a supergun. I would be doing it mainly because of the rgb encoder circuit, but also it would make a nice case. I'm just looking for any input on this before I dive into it. Has anyone had any level of success doing this ? For the power supply, I have an ATX power supply that I will be converting. The name of the game here is making a supergun and keep it as cheap as possible. The only thing I still need is a jamma harness and cps1 an cps2 kick harnesses.

I've heard of this, but havent found any good information on it. If you would be so kind, could you post up a couple of links?

Thats a cool site, thanks. The main reason why I am looking to use the genesis rgb circuit is because at the moment, I don't have an extra $75 or so to drop on a rgb encoder. I know it would be the easier route, but I need to make due with what I have for now. I read a rather lengthy thread on gamesx.com about this. The saturn rgb encoder would supposedly be best to use, but I don't have one to butcher up. I had to sell my supergun not too long ago because of some bills I had.

It seems like alot of the initial trouble was to learn how superguns work, and not be affraid to fire up a soldering iron. Got both of those bases covered.

D-Lite is a whiz at using the Genny Encoder for custom projects...

Email me if you would like to see the CXA Encoder Datasheet.
