Maybe this is blasphemy, but if I want to play a JAMMMA board in my 4 slot MVS cab, could i just make an small adapter that converts the MVS harness to JAMMA one. I know the only hard part would be sound. I read some places that MVS wiring uses a different grounding method than normal JAMMA mono. Could someone explain this to me in very simple terms.

Really what i want to do is get a JAMMA fingerboard and hook it up to a JAMMA connector, so I just plug this into my MVS harness and viola, its now a JAMMA cab with proper mono, proper grounding, and of course -5V. How hard would this be?

It won't work, the speakers will still be wired for stereo. You'll have to make a switch mod.

Anyone done this before, is there a documented mod for this? I want to keep my dedicated MVS in tact in every way possible, but I want JAMMA too. Maybe i'm like icarus, just flying too close to the sun.

What if I had a sperate wiring harness for mono, and then put the JAMMA audio and MVS audio through a mixer, then pass it to the speakers?

Awesome thanks, I will try it out. Someone should add this to hardmvs on the project section :)

Its really not that difficult. Way back when, I had Briggs from hardmvs.com do one for me, but I could do it easily now. It (optionally) involves adding a -5 volt line from the PSU to the harness, and basically making a molex quick dissconnect between two different pin locations on the board, and the speakers. If I find a speciffic link to instructions, ill post it here. Otherwise, try giving Briggs a hollar, he can help you out big time.

You could also do it with some 4-pin molex connectors. The top 2 in the diagram would be wired to the speakers and jamma harness. They would be connected to each other for normal MVS stereo use.

The bottom 2 connectors would be wired to each other, and connected between the top 2 connectors for mono Jamma games.

Ok, I tried the second one posted by Gray Wolf since I wanted a switch, and I happened to have a 4PDT switch lying around, no kidding :)

Anyway, I tried this out last night, but the sound just isnt right in MVS mode, I went to the hardware test and i got left and right, but nothing on the center channel, i checked and checked and rechecked my wiring, I must be missing something, anyone know where I should check?
