Much obliged. :mr_t:

Philosophically, I think I like the fact that there is no pausing. It's like, "hey, it's an arcade game. You couldn't ever pause Donkey Kong at the Chucky CHeese to go get another slice of pizza." That aside, it seems like I get the most phone calls when I turn on my Neo.

So I just say ,"sorry, I can't come to the phone, I'm playing video games, now bugger off!!"

Also, I'm probably just too lazy to put one more doo-dad on this thing. Believe it or not, it's really filled up in there.

As for the 5 pin din, you're probably right. I think I'll just wait til I need to replace it, though.

Anyways, thanks again. It's fun showing of my new toy.

Thanks. It's all based on the infamous "dia-ham." :buttrock:

Now that make me smile! Glad that thing is still helping people :)

I reckon you need to file the sides of the cart slot opeing a little more to make it smooth.
Cool CMVS.

Yeah, that whole slot thing was the worst, most nerve wracking part. I'm happy with just about every aspect except that. There's actually only one side that really needs more work. This is the kind of thing that requires a huge amount of patience and time. It's like you kind of have to remember that you can cut away more later, so do not try to hack the whole thing out at once. The dremel tool actually "got away from me" on more than one occasion. I'm probably lucky to have all my digits and orbital extremities. Hot melting plastic flinging all over the place is dangerous!!! And slightly intoxicating. ;)

Nice job. Something I thought about doing too but never tried. I'd like to find a smaller case, like a angled joystick one of even a keyboard one for the 1C.

About making that hole for the cart slot, you could have done something much easier. To make long holes, drill out the corners and use either a hacksaw or a keyhole saw. Much much easier to control and makes nice linear cuts that you don't need to do too much filing on. Also, no burning/melting of the plastic.

not bad for a first, really.
good thing is that you can always get a new case, if you feel like improving it.

what did you do to the s-video 'socket', btw? chemical stripper or sanded and polished? i had never seen them in silver. looks nice in combination with the other silver parts.

Thanks. What can I say? I just went balls out when I got the box from Pactec. I had a different plan in my head when I started. I seriously took few measurements. I eyeballed most everything. It maybe was a bit stupid or rash, I just wanted to see if I could do the damn thing, you know? I ripped out the guts from my last project, and stuffed 'em into this thing. The whole project took about a day and a half to do.

Damn! I knew I shoulda consulted the experts with the cutting.

P.S.- The keyboard thing was something I considered, too. It kinda mimics the AES shape.

Thanks again, yeah, I think I can just order the top part of the box and really put the learning from this one to good use.

The s-video "socket" is actually like a female to female pass through adaptor that I bought from Keisub Electronics here in Vegas. I'm running a 6" s-video cable from the jrok output in the front to the adpator on the back of the box. It came in that silver color and fit with the aesthetic I was pursuing. Kinda like a mid 70's silver and black- Mad Max- Darth Vader-leather and metal look.

yep, i thought so. same shape as the one that many of use are using. it's just that i had never seen them in silver, before. only in gold.

if you want to use it as a real socket, then you can mod it, btw. you'll have to cut it in half to get to the contacts. at least that's how i use them.
