JMKurtz said:Or you could put a Neobitz in an external box and build your own cable(s). I've done this for a couple people and I know of a couple people that have did the same -- with great results on multiple systems.
The nice thing about the Neobitz is that it also includes SVideo and Composite, although you are most likely getting it for Component.
I checked into getting one of these units. To have it shipped to the US brought the total over $150....just for component.
Jeff
After reading Jeff's post in another thread here I want to do this......but I need help. Being in the US I would prefer to use RCA jacks for the RGB input into said box instead of a scart plugs and a scart system selector. Which is not to say I wouldn't want to buy the scart cables and change out the connectors with male RCA jacks.
Looking at gamesx.com I see that some US systems need to have the RGB pins connected and some may already have it and just need to have the AV cables wired to use the RGB pins.
How would a box for the Neobitz be put together? What type of power supply would be needed and could be installed in the case/box? I hate external power supplies and would want it internally and just add a fan for cooling.
Here is where I get a bit shakey in my understanding of RGB. The need for sync and power that comes out of some ports that I see on some diagrams. I know some people talk about placing resistors/caps on some of the lines in scart jacks and would there be a problem in universal connections in a box like this?
Well this is a start for this and I hope some of you will be intrested in contributing to this kind of How-to.
Peace
