Well it took me long enough, I meant to finish this years ago, but since I got rid of my cab I never did. Now thanks to the constant pestering of a certain forum member, I finished it...well I still have to test it on a cab and make sure everything works. Just wanted to share.
If you dont know what you are looking at, its simple I made a little box that plugs into your arcade cabinet and lets you use a PSX/PS2/DC/Saturn/GC/Xbox on it, hack some controllers like the psx ones I used and then plug it into the main unit and start playing. I used a Spider RGB cable to make it easier, a DIY stereo amp kit to adjust volume, a side button for the select/back buttons on the PSX/PS2/Xbox, also a CPS2 kick harness so you can use the 6 button set up as well. Should have it tested out by the end of this week. If you are wondering, the consoles still need a separate power source, so you need to use the regular AC cable that comes with your system, any other way would require modding the system itself.

before you ask, I am not advertising, I will not be making these on request, unless you are a close friend...and even then maybe not. It's not hard to do, just alot of f'n wiring to be done. Also if this should be in the General Section, mods feel free to move it.

What a brilliant way to play the latest Atomiswave games and only paying 60 bucks for them.
I should make one.

Yep it's a great concept...

I"d do one if If I had a cab...

IT's a lot of work for each system.

I was going to build such a unit...

Almost the same exact thing to a T.

Basicly, you get RGB cables for each system (or a spider cable) and you install them into the main unit....

you will also need to build a small Amp inside the main unit.

Then for each system, you have to hack two controllers, put them in a seperate projject box and use a printer cable (I was going to use 2 Db-15's) to get the controller coverters over to the main unit....

I did that for Saturn and have it running in a Super Neo29 right now. Very good option if you aren't a millionaire and want to play certain games.

After I test it out, I will post some more info for those interested. Who knows I may change my mind and make a couple of extra to sell, .The price on parts is kinda high, like I said after I test it I will make a list with parts and more info.

Not asking you to make one, but if you could show us how to do a lot of it, that would be great!

I thought that the PSII supported High Rez RGB for ATW ports.

Anyways, you can run the DC in HIgh rez mode....

Great for Ikaruga and Border down.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the ps2 does that, but doesn't the game have to support progressive scan to take advantage of it?

Why wouldn't the ATW/Naomi Ports Support Higher Resolutions?

Well, the main reason to use these console to JAMMA adapter is to run your game console game systems in you cab. However, sure the console might support high res, but that doesn't mean much when your cab can only run low res. I don't know about most people, but I can't afford one of those Atomiswave high res cabs. :(

Multi Sync monitor Prices are falling.

There are non-atw high rez cabs.

Some Switchable Mame Cabs use a Multisync monitor.

If your going to build a cab from scratch, go with a Multisync....

I am not here to write an FAQ or how to, I can however offer some help and get you pointed in the right direction. Sites to check out for wiring
www.gamesx.com , http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/pc2jamma.html , that last one has some good info. Be sure to check out the DC2Jamma guide as well there.
List of parts:
Project boxes I guess I should probably measure mine, but it needs to be fairly big as it needs to house a streo amp and the edge connector, you can pick up project boxes from your local electronics store, or ww.jameco.com

Edge connector/fingerboard http://shop.jammaboards.com/view_product.php?product=JB-1 or check ebay

DIY Stereo amp, save yourself the trouble of building one totally from scratch http://www.electronickits.com/kit/complete/ampl/k143.htm

Spider RGB cable, or single RGB cable from various import stores, pinouts can be found at the www.gamesx.com or other sites just google it, or search this site.

lm1881n chip to strip the sync from the composite video, can be ordered from www.jameco.com for a couple dollars, also the .1mfd ceramic capacitors, and the 680k ohm resistor, wiring info can be found at www.gamesx.com

The cps2 kick harness was given to me so I do not know where to get it, people here know just ask.

I used DB25 connectors because this would allow me to use 1 connector for 2 controllers and made the connection to the main housing easier. The rest is pretty straightforward wiring, the RGB goes to the fingerboard, the composite video goes into the lm1881n circuit and spits out a Sync to be connected to the fingerboard, the stereo lines run from the scart cable to the amp then to the fingerboard allowing you to adjust the volume accordingly. I use the +5V for the sync, and the +12V for the amp.
