Can anybody tell me what uses (if any) it might have? It was an old computer monitor (ca. 1986) that had been sitting upstairs for god knows how long. We've been doing a little spring cleaning and it almost went out with the trash. It piqued my curiosity with its RGB connector ports on the back.

The connections on the back read from left to right CVBS in, Audio in, TTL. RGB, l(l?)(i?)n RGB. Also there is a button that reads Comb Defeat.

Anything that you guys can tell me about it would be appreciated, such as: Can it be used as an arcade monitor? Can you hook regular video into it, possibly through the CVBS port (I haven't got a clue what that stands for)? For now all I can say is that it powers up. I know nothing more.

Thanks in advance,
Max

If it was headed for the trash, might as well test it. Nothing to lose.

Best guesses from google:
1. Should work as an arcade monitor via the TTL RGB plug. Pinout: http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/vga2tv/rgb_pinouts.html
under DIN 45326
2. Wikipedia says CVBS is just another name for composite. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cvbs
Plug a standard yellow cable in and find out.

Thanks for the info (and the links) I'll try it out when I get home from work this afternoon.

For the pisture this monitor looks almost identical to the amiga 1084S monitor. The only difference I can see apart from the name is the Green button on the front. If it works you should be able to get it working for arcade games quite easily by going straight from the JAMMA edge to the En. RGB connection.

For the amiga 1084S monitor you would need to connect as follows so I suspect this monitor is the same.

Pin 12 of JAMMA to Pin 4 of 6pin DIN male
Pin N of JAMMA to Pin 1 of 6pin DIN male
Pin 13 of JAMMA to Pin 5 of 6pin DIN male
Pin P of JAMMA to Pin 6 of 6pin DIN male
Pin 14 of JAMMA to Pin 3 of 6pin DIN male

I was thinking either an Amiga or a Commodore monitor. Maybe it's a Commodore? Awesome monitors BTW! They don't make them like they used to, so hold on to that one if it works, fenikso!
