Does anyone know how to mod the saturn to play both Japanese and US games? I knew a guy who modded them with a nice switch, but he's no longer in business. I know that the pins are just reversed from the Jap vs. the US saturns. I know it isn't hard and I know what switch to buy I just don't know where to mod it. If anyone knows....thanks!!

Just buy a 4-in-1 cart that allows you to play imports on any Sega Saturn.

most people wanna do the mod because the 4 in 1 carts arnet perfect

still takes a little longer for them to load than the real ram carts
ive read they dont perform quite as well either

plus u cant play KOF 95 with the 4 in 1

that and the 4 in 1's die often also..aparently...mines still great but i never pull it out or anything ever :)

anyway yeah..even with the 3 in 1 cart theres purpose to the mod

Personally, I just mod the system so I can play burned game on which I patch the region on the ISO. That way it's totally transparent

Yeah, region patching is the way to go imo.

Do you have pics of a mod you did? Also how much? I'm in Az now. I'll send you a PM. Thanks

Not on file, but I do have my personal modified Sega Saturn somewhere in the house. I can mount the switch anywhere you'd like.

OSG Saturn page

Switched, switchless, chipped, whatever you want. I do them regularly (one a month) and can region switch *any* version.

Best How To on the net

Don't lift the traces on the jumpers (easy to do), or it could be new motherboard time.

I too prefer the mod to my 4 in 1. I only put the 4 in 1 in when I need it for RAM or save backing up. It's easier on the Saturn's fussy cart slot, and the 4 in 1 boot screen is an annoying PITA.

On my site, I did the switchless mod on my Japanese VIDEOCD Saturn, and it's sweet. The unit looks unmodified, but it can do Everything.
