How would one go about this? Directly tie into the RGB signal the guns are receiving? Seems simple enough the only, thing I could forsee being tricky would be the sync line.

I looked into doing this my self at one point. It seems there just isn't enough interest in it for there to be any information about it. I opened up my TV, and it had Red Green Blue cables, but it's really hard to tell what to do when you get in there, especially with a modern tv full of circuitry, not to mention to voltage. I ended up buying an arcade monitor instead of fubaring my TV. If you can figure anything out on this let me know, I’de still love to add a RGB or SCART out on my tv so I’d have a all in one package.

Sounds like a good way to fry your tv, your system and yourself.

Alright, woo hoo first post, look at the newbie, etc. Yeah.

If you look inside the TV and can find out which circuitry is decoding the composite signals, and find what that outputs to, you may be able to find the point where the actual TV connects to the input signals. If everything is on one PCB or has ribbon cables and nothing else, you're screwed. If you can isolate a group of five wires in something like red, green, blue, grey, black colors, then you're extremely lucky (it was that way on one of the older TVs I owned; it really looked like a jumble of decoding circuitry glued onto an arcade monitor). Just be careful not to get anywhere near the neckboard. Nothing on there is worth trying unless you would like to experience the wonders of glass-shard makeup. ;)
