Atomiswave control problems

I own a Atomiswave board and recently when i tried to load KOF NeoWave, I noticed my 2nd player A button stopped working and I couldn't do moves anymore. When I went into I/O Data test to see what was wrong, I noticed that the A button was constantly in the ON position and not in the OFF position. I've tried rebooting and everything but some reason the button won't leave that position. Can anyone help me with this or share equal experience in this?

Stupid question but did you try the board with other games?

Or there could be a short somewhere on the board....

In the I/O config screen - if you press the A button, does it change from ON to OFF?

Are they custom sticks? If so, are the wires connected to the right pins on the microswitch? I've swapped wires around on my homemade sticks and have connected them incorrectly a few times, resulting in the symptom I've mentioned above.

Unfortunately, I only own KOF NeoWave for my atomiswave board. And it always stays on the ON position. Doesn't matter whether I take disconnect the button or not. it stays on the ON position. The board thinks its constantly being pushed. And for some reason, when I try playing the game, on the 2nd player side where button 1 is constantly on, I can't do special moves for the life of me on the same side! Its as though the button constantly being on is distruping the flow of the stick motion....any ideas?

If there's a short on the board, is there a way to find out or is there a way to fix it?

Use a multimeter to do a continuity test between the JAMMA pin of p2 A button and ground, and see if it's always connected.
I understand you tried another board like for example a MVS and this didn't happen.

Yeah Amano. I had 3rd Strike and KOF 03 MVS there before plugging in my atomiswave board. I also replugged in my KOF just to make sure it didn't short out the wire when I plugged in the Atomiswave. Unfortunately, this 2p button A problem is only with the Atomiswave board...

I have a multimeter, what am I looking for to see if its working? Like what would my multimeter read if its suppose to be on vs off?

Take your AW mobo out of your set-up. Set the multimeter to continuity test. It will beep if both ends of it touch 2 spots that are electronically connected. So use it to touch the JAMMA pin corresponding to that button and any ground. If it beeps, it means there's a short in the mobo that causes this problem.

I would make sure you have the kick harness disconnected from the CPS3 board while you have the Atomiswave connected to the jamma connecter. For me, when I had my kick harness still connected to to the CPS2/3 boards while I had the Atomiswave connected, various buttons would not work for me. Once I disconnected the kick harness, all of my buttons worked once again.

yeah I disconnected my cps2/3 kick harness when I plugged in my atomiswave. Amano, you know what's the setting for continuity test on multimeters by Radio Shack? hehe I don't have the manual for it LOL

Sorry, we don't have radioshck here in Spain so I have no idea. In mine I have to move the lever to a signal of a "sound". When the multimeter is in this mode, it will beep when the two stick ends make direct contact between them.
