Yes, just recently finished it. Turned out very nice. The internal space "problem" isn't as severe as some have stated.

If you're interested, here are more pics of the unit

The space is an issue if you don't remove all of the shielding, but I see you did. I don't think the shielding is necessary per se, but I left it in. I like the placement of ports you have, but why front mounted? Easier for the final assembly? And you're using a DPDT for the test and service function, yes? And the "RGB Out" you highlight, that's the VGA port, isn't it? Or did you downgrade it to RGB?

Some of the shielding was removed, yes, but there are many pockets of available space if you are creative.

Why front mounted ports? Because 99% of game systems today have them on the front of their shells. I did not/do not like the idea of them being on the side, it makes the system look a little goofy. The JAMMA connector is still useable when controllers are attached, so there was no sacrifice made.

Yes, the test/service buttons are controlled via (1) switch.

No, the VGA port was left in tact. I modified the Serial port (modem) since I doubt I'll ever use it. I didn't want to add another connector to the system's shell, so I used what was available already. True RGB/S is being outputted via the connector so that use with a monitor is available.

No, not mounted on the front of the system, but mounted on the front side of the case rather than inside of the case like 100% of systems today. The DB-15 portion itself is entirely visible this way. I'm just wondering why you chose that.

Besides, the "front" of the system isn't really that inportant with things like this. You could very easily consider the JAMMA edge the back side.

Assembly & Fragility. The area to which I mounted the connectors was/is extremely delicate & I did not want to chance breaking the shell.

Concerning layout, I wanted all the power/AV interfaces on it's back & the joystick ports/adjustment controls on the front.

Aesthetics is important to the "look" of a system.

If you were worried about the delicate nature of where you were drilling, don't you think it'll be bad having controllers being plugged in and out of it frequently? I asked mainly because I think aesthetically it would be better to rear-mount the controller ports. Either method requires the same amount of drilling and filing.

I wasn't aware of it's fragility until after drilling/filing the cutouts, so at this point, it was too late (although I don't regret the decision to place them where they are, I prefer it actually). Besides, that wasn't the problem. When putting the top shell back on the metal frame, you must feed the JAMMA connector thru it's opening & swing it down from the front (you should know this already). If I was to mount the connectors internally as you have mentioned, I could have snapped the delicate face of the shell.

Lastly, (pictured) I had to install a screw in between the ports so that insertion/removal of the joysticks wouldn't break or bow the unit.
