Maybe we'll see some people join up when Xbawks 360 version comes out.

Still playing after 1 1/2 years on PS2 and my highest lvl is 50.
Will be spending the next few months saving 3.5 Million for some 1337 gear.

Even the constraints of skool and werk hasn't kept me away for too long.

I'm interested. But being 2+ years behind the curve makes buying FFXI at this point and time seems pointless. I think I'll hold out for Vanguard, (crosses fingers) True Fantasy Online (wishful thinking, I know) or some other MMORPG.

Gimme WoW...or what's that other hot PvP/MMORPG that doesn't have a monthly fee?

If you wanna play it, go for it it! It's a fun game and has a friendly community. There are people lvling low lvl jobs everyday, so finding a party isn't hard. There will also be a big infusion of X360 players, so you shouldn't feel bad about showing up to the party late.

That MMO w/o a fee is called Guild Wars.

I've been leveling BST in a casual fashion.

At 32 right now, hoping for 35 by this weekend (Leave isn't coming soon enough.)

Migrated to Bismarck, so I've been hanging there lately.

Found a nice LS, so it's been a good time.

Snapped a few shots of my character earlier, if anybody is interested, here's one:

Guild Wars is sort of like a graphically updated Americanized version of PSO, when it comes to how multiplayer is handled. It's pretty fun and best for those who ONLY play MMORPGs for combating monsters. It has no social or job system, in sight, which is why it pretty much mimicks the gaming-structure of PSO.

In a way, that structure almost perfectly explains why it is free. I've been mainly playing WoW, off and on, and GW. I may eventually get into FFXI, though. That whole Gill Farming is no different than just about every other MMORPG that has caught on to the same kind of shenanigans. It's like that whole fad where one idea comes out, and then EVERYBODY is doing it. So you either ignore it, or just forget about any MMORPGs right now. It's what you would call an exploit that's so generally unstoppable (under the legal actions you can do in these games), all you really need is the basic elements in a MMORPG to pull it off. It really depends on my mood, though. For some reason, I'm finding less time to commit to MMORPGs and have thought about sticking with just GW since it's free.

Guild Wars, like PSO before it, can technically be played by yourself or just with friends due to PSOs-like creating of world instances for all adventuring areas. It's overworlds and dungeons all to yourselves. (outside of the occasional little blurb about major Guild battles won, which determine what region of the world has access to special dungeons with extra goodies, and how far behind everybody else is from acheiving the privledge)

I use to play FFXI. I really loved it for awhile but the thing that got me was that it became so hard to find groups. After awhile I just got too tired of it. Great game If they could overhaul how groups are formed from players with like 5 level difference I think?

I hate talking about FF11. It makes me really nostalgic about the game. I absolutely love the game, fucking loved it... but I felt really excluded from it. I could never find the four hour blocks of time that are really required to get rolling in the game. It was and still is a very hardcore MMO, but there's a light on the horizon.

With the new updates that are coming out for the game (I assume to correspond with the release of the new expansion and with the XB360 version), they have confirmed that they are going to add new areas specifically designed for solo'ing! Plus with a large influx of players coming in to play the expansion and the 360 version, they'll be a larger player base to find groups with.

I've been playing World of Warcraft sense then. And it's fun, it's great, it's colorful, and... lacking that special something that FF11 had. Something about the amazing story, community, strategic gameplay, and most importantly the feeling of real accomplishment.

So in a few more months, I have a feeling that I'll be calling Square/Enix to request that they restore my character (apprantly they allow one 'restore' per account after you've passed the 3-month deletion period).

World of Warcraft does give you that full sense of story, community, and self-input to the world when you stick with the RP servers. Earthen Ring is very good for that. That's why I kind of have a love/hate relationship with WoW, a bit. Part of the hate is more of a fear. I'm doing my best to not totally get sucked into the fantasy *soap opera* that happens daily, there. I also feel sorry for the people who are *so far* the most major players in such an on-going RPing storyline, as they probably have to be on most of their daily lives. I'll never be that way for ANY online RPG. I'm just happy not being a lead character, but a supporting one.

Well, I'm still playing, albeit alot more casually than I used to. Got bard to 51. I'd say the biggest strength and weakness of this game is the reliance on groups. You can't do anything it seems (with a few exceptions) without help from other people. That's one of the things that's holding me back from getting my AF. On the flip side, it's fun getting to know new people and working as a team.

I got up to 45 WAR and 30 SAM and the grind just killed me. Sold all my stuff and quit. Do I regret it, kinda, but that game use to piss me off so bad with the shitastic groups that would take a solid hour to assemble.

Probably the same reason for why I don't get into MMORPGs much anymore. :(

still playing from time to time, i've been on and off since us pc launch and 45 is my highest job level. sucks that that pretty much exempts me from a lot of linkshell activities as they've long since outleveled me on multiple jobs, but i still have fun playing. took samurai from 15-19 last night and might stick to it as i'm almost positive i've had enough of the mage classes in the game.

of course that means i have to level a subjob, and the subjob's subjob, bah. only ffxi....

Yea, I just don't have as much time and interest as I used to with this game. Right now school, work, and DQ8 is keeping me away. I'm thinking of canceling my account, but we'll have to see how it goes.

Yeah, I play...but like everyone else said, I can never get a four hour block needed to level up fast.

Personally, I play Guild Wars alot more. Played WoW for a while, but stopped cause I had no time at all during school.

Well, I ended up quitting the game in the beginning of december. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, but the farming and lvling grind just got me down. And there was always the thing of sitting down and playing for 4-6 hours, and then realizing that you whole day has been shot. Missions and quests were never fun to me either. One thing I did discover in FFXI toward the end was being able to help other people out was a lot of fun, but as a bard, you have less capacity to do that. I doubt I'll play again. We'll see how it is when the expansion comes out - I might come back. In the meantime, it's been Single player RPGs rented from Gamefly. If I ever get BB I'll probably be playing Phantasy Star Universe.
