Hi everyone. I used to post here as SNKFreak a couple years ago, I was banned for saying some negative things about Playmore, Shawn emailed me saying that if I ever want to be unbanned I should just ask him... well, 2 years later, I wanna take him up on his offer, but I couldn't get his email address from this site.

In any case I've been out of the Neo Geo loop for a while and I'm long overdue for building something! :) Since I mostly posted in this forum, I decided to make my first returning post here in the hopes that some people remember me.

Okay okay, enough of that, onto my querry.

I'm looking for an MVS panel template for some custom controllers I'm building. I've searched all around and I cant find anything. Is there any place that has such a thing? Or at least some schematics of how the spacing of the buttons should be and such? Thanks!

The first link you can purchase then. The second link I believe you can print it out yourself. I've never used these websites, but I've asked the same question in the past and these are the links that other members pointed me towards.

Both of those companies print the overlay on vinyl like adhesive material. I've seen both and wasn't too impressed by the quality. One (maybe both) of the companies uses an inkjet printer (not the cheap $200 ones) and there was a lot of dithering. I would suggest finding an original NOS (new old stock) from someone on this forum or keep checking eBay. Please note that some of these companies also sell on eBay and they advertise the overlays as being "NEW". While they don't mean original new but new reproduction that hasn't been used, it's nevertheless missleading.

Well, more than anything I'm looking for something to get measurements from. I'm planning to paint it myself, I just want to be exact with the spacing and the design itself.

Knowing that the mounting holes need to be 1 1/8" in diameter, I can make a relative calculation etc etc etc.

I normally space buttons at 1-7/16" apart - 1-3/8" is too close, and 1-1/2" is too far.
I wouldn't worry too much about exact measurements with the rest of the panel -- just go with what is comfortable for you to use (it is your cabinet, after all...)

Just remember that there are at least two "official" layouts. The wide cabinets (six slots) have the B, C, and D buttons in a straight horizontal row, with A down and to the left of B. The narrower cabinets, like my two slot, have the buttons in an arc.

What I'll most likely do is wait till I go to work tomorrow and take measurements of a couple of the cabs there. Then I'll modify it to whatever feels best on my fingers and looks best on the chassis that I'm building.
