After drawing that last guy, I realized that I had drawn a self portrait of myself in 10-15 years.

Comments?

Very nice stuff man. It's good to see other artists drawing fun and creative stuff like this. This is the kind of stuff that my graphics design professor calls anime. Draw anything that isn't a real life protrait, and it's anime. Bugs Bunny, anime, Mickey Mouse, anime. If it looks non realistic, it's anime and therefore crap. I digress, keep on fighting the good fight and drawing this tight art.

Professors are a joke. I can't stand them. Really, the only one I have any respect for is my Cal3 teacher. She don't even get paid a full salary, but she does 300x as much work as any professor I've seen. Plus she's probably the only person I have learned anything from while being in lecture. Add to that she actually wants to help you learn in anyway possible (something that is VERY rare in college) and she's probably the best instructor ever.

Nice artwork! I wish I was blessed with an artistic hand, but instead I can do math problems...

I deal with these kind of people on a daily basis. You should see the looks I get when I tell co-workers or family members you never see that I'm majoring in animation. Heck, my father was like that until I forced him to realize that this is what I wanted to follow.

I'm actually trying to improve my figure drawing as well, and I have some of those in my sketchbook too, but I like to concentrate on drawing little creatures. Call it a Shito complex, but it's really fun do draw the little buggers. A lot of my stuff is hit or miss, and there's very little I'm really proud of, but at least I try to diversify.

That is really amazing.

The anatomy, proportions, it's all simply beautiful.

Congratulations, you are the most skilled artist that Neo-Geo.com has.

I'd have to browse through all the creative threads first before making that call but he is very good. I used to draw alot but haven't had much time lately even to practice.

I got positive comments from both Mushiki and Nesagwa.

That made my heart pound real fast. :emb:

What really shocked me was the Disney comment though, it actually made me go back to take a second look at my stuff with different eyes. I guess some Disney influence is possible, especially considering that any animator that's worth their weight looks up to them.

I'll scan/post some more stuff later.

Yep, roninbuddah has some great work as well, but Hermegildo's level of perfection when drawing anatomy shows that he has actually studied it -- also, the motions, the lines, everything is really good and proportioned, that female body and face are absolutely beautiful. It's like comparing professional work with "fanmade" art.

Also, being able to draw a hand in such a way tells us a lot of his abilities - drawing hands properly is one of the most complex tasks when it comes to drawing.

excellent stuff man. true say on the female body comment. if you trace your eyes up the arm and get to the shoulder you can see how great it is.
I used to do nothing but draw critters. it's my fascination too, but I just didn't know what to do with them.
personally I love Japanese prints alot more than any other artistic medium. one of my favourite artists is Yoshitoshi, have you ever seen his art? I recomend you check out Thirty Six Ghosts by him. other woodblock artists made some awesome images of creatures too. alot to check out.

This is much more recent stuff, at least some 6-8 months ahead of the other stuff I posted, though I'm not sure if there's a noticeable difference in quality. The woman in the last scan was not done from my head, it was copied from a picture of Laetitia Casta I got on t3h web.

And yeah, I have a whole book on drawing hands alone. :emb:

I might post some of my actual animations later on if I find a decent hosting service.

EDIT: I'll have to check out this Yoshitoshi dude. :D

I fucking wish.

I'm far from being a professional artist. A lot of my drawings go nowhere and are just meh, I'm actually posting what I think is some my really good stuff. I'll post some of my shitty ones so you know what I'm talking about.

These were done for an Illustration class last year and are as close to professional artwork as I've gotten. They were done with pencil using photo references and colored in Photoshop. There's a third piece too, but it's the weakest of the three and I didn't have it in my bucket so I just skipped it.

That girl's shirt looks amazing -- that mouth with fangs looks good, but the nose is terrible.

Post more!

Those colored ones blew my mind. Reminded me of something you might seen in motion out of Mad House.

Congratulations man!
