I am having problems with my hantarex monitor (19") its powered by a hantarex US250 PSU which is old. and very fucked

:(

after a week of owning the cab it was on in rotation fine, then on friday night the monitor has cut out and wont turn on again. I think it maybe the PSU as we had to solder some of the tracks and connectors back on it after it fell off the shelf inside .. :spock:

anyway, can someone recommend some websites or any help in getting this monitor to come back on, or a place where I can buy a replacement or equivelent psu, it seems to be a strange one as it has 135V out for the monitor, I can't find any arcade psu's which do this .. bah

ah cab newbie, only just sold my homecart system and now the monitor cuts out.

I rock!

anyway, uh I can't identify the model number of the monitor either, its a hantarex 19" with a samsung tube, thats all I can find out, if I knew exactly which model it was I could maybe diagnose or get some manuals, I heard the LOPT goes on some of the older shittier ones.

does anyone know a website with the manual for the hantarex 19" monitor and the hantarex US250 PSU (piece of crap old thing) that dont want me to pay £10 for the manual?

merchants :(

help me :(

anyone who posts I am grateful to

That monitor is unusual in that it gets its +b (130 volts from a dedicated psu) and conversly the board set gets its rails from the same supply.

The link I had to the schematic is not working so will email

It'd probably be alot easier, and you'd most likelly get a more stable/longer lasting monitor if you just replaced it with a new monitor completelly... 19" monitors aren't particularly expensive... just don't bother with those rip-off wells gardner monitors. I bought some monitors off these guys> http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=genao.com and am satisfied with my purhchase (the monitors are very clean and have great color) the 19" ones go for 110 re-furbed or 189 new.

Do you absolutely need it to be a hantarex US 250? Or would you be willing to look for an equivalent?

I've searched Happ and another shop and nothing came up. And a google search just has links to other forums asking how to prolong thier product.

Edit:
Happ has a few hits.

Maybe these'll help? I hope. :(

So, are all arcade cabinet PSU's cheap pieces of shit? I've been seeing a bunch of PSU's going bad on here lately.

Are they not built to the same specs as home computers?

Nope, arcade PSUs aren't necessarily POS. You have to realize how much more use and hours arcade games log compare to a computer. Tell me how many other computers you know that date back to 1989-90? I'm sure any computer that old would have to have the power supply replaced several times.

Yeah you're right. Plus safety standards and build quality probably wasn't that great back then either...
