I pulled my MV-1C out of my consolized MVS yesterday to try it out in my new cab. When pulling it out or putting it back in broke something somewhere... and spent most of the night tonight trying to figure out what. I checked everything related to sound, then double checked it, then completely redid my AT circuit and it was still not working. Finally thought to check the voltage coming in and there was no 12 volt... WTF? Well I wasn't getting any 12 volt going through and found what I had screwed up, but the thing that surprised me was the fact that I was able to get video and able to play the game without the 12v. :spock:

All better now, but damn that was annoying. :buttrock:

5V is used to power the board, 12V is for the sound amp.

Yea, guess I should have asked first... instead I spent several hours trying to fix problems that didn't exist... ;) I'm sure that has been mentioned before too, next time I have a problem, the first thing I'll do is check my voltage though. :loco:

...just realized I forgot to get to the point in that first post. I was tired. ;) The useful tip is:

Check your voltage before you start tearing things out and rebuilding them! :chump:

Good tip.

I thought i was tech savy, but on the first cab got caught out with the basics.

No sound on a cab (or any mvs/jamma set up) = check 12 volt supply

and/or -5 volts on certain midway boards like MK
