k ... i'm somewhat new to cabs ...

if i was to buy a 25" neo candy cab ... would it be possible to put a normal hantarex (25“ @ 15 khz) in it? i mean ... will the bezel fit and are the mounts inside the cabs standard or will i have to mod the hell out of it just to be able to mount the crt?

What about cab with a 29" monitor. Can you buy those somewhere?
i can, but i don't have too much space. it's also that you don't have much of a choise, if you're in germany and don't have insane amounts of money to blow.

arcadeinfinity is no more, isn't it?

So you know where to buy 29" monitors? I need 1, maybe 2. Can you help me find them? I've looked everywhere.

I have been wondering about 29" monitors as well. I just picked up a Jaleco Pony Mark 4 with 29" and the monitor doesn't work on the cheap. I think I can fix it, but will want to get a replacement if I can't fix this one. Not sure where to go for a replacement though...

Where? The only sizes I can find are 27" then it jumps to 33"

I have heard from others that a Jap 29" is in fact a US 27". I think the Japanese count the whole tube for measurements and we only count the picture area... I'm not sure about this though, can anyone confirm?

I had a guy over at my place last night that fixes arcade monitors and he said it was a weird size. Not 27 inches. He didn't seem hopeful in finding replacement monitors.

Hmmm... just popped mine open to measure it and the tube on my 29" cab is 29". The actual display area of the tube is 27". That seems to support that the Jap 29" are just US 27", but I'm still not convinced either way yet...

You'll be better off if you can figure out if the problem lies with the electronics or the actual CRT.

Most arcade monitors use perfectly standard CRTs from televisions - I got my local TV guru to find me a 25" Zenith tube for my WG K7000 in my Neo cab. Fixed it right up.

You can get either the electronics (usually referred to as a chassis) or the CRT itself for far, far less than the whole package.

Arcade-Infinity is still around who told you they died?

I have written them at least a dozen times, wanting to buy parts, and they never wrote me back. I know many other people that have had the same problem. Do they even have a web page anymore? I remember when they changed to the new one, they never had a stock list.

Will they ship to the US?
they might (i didn't find any info on their page, but there's an english and an italian flag), but i can't imagine that you can't find a similar monitor within the usa. that 25" crt is more than $400 and shipping would be at least as much, i guess.

This is a bit like "jumping the shark" imho, the cab is only a bit of woodwork to house the monitor. Unless its special woodwork like dedicated MVS. Edit: or other classic cabs

BTW I see the monitor as two components 1.CRT and 2. momitor pcb
I get confused when they are refered to as one.

Candy Monitors are da bomb, if you are removeing an old monitor, watch out!! It will have a crap load of voltage going through the caps which could seriously injur you.
