Well, 2, and one is more of a pseudo shmup, but the other...

First up to bat is G.Rev's "Senko no Ronde", a vs. style shmup that looks to be very impressive, though has been getting somewhat mediocre reviews from a few shmups.com people. But, G.Rev did make Border Down, thus, they can do no wrong in my book.

And second, well:

For those of you who has got high hopes for Ronde, don't hold your breath.

The game is not really a shmup...it plays more like a 2-D Virtual-On.

The new Treasure title should be interesting,if anything.

Yeah, I'm suprised people on IGN talking about the 360 even know what Radiant Silvergun is. :kekeke:

do not get excited over a treasure shooter made in a system's birthing era. Treasure only makes good swansong shooters - Radiant Silvergun, Sin and Punishment, Ikaruga, were all released as swansongs. Hell, look at Super Gunstar Heroes for the soon to be forgotten GBA...

What games did they make in the early stages of a system that no one really talks much about:
Silpheed
Michief Makers
Silhouette Mirage

Yeah, I got to play it recently. Not very interesting IMO, gameplay was kind of boring.

That's a pretty good point, but I really liked silhouette mirage. Bangai-o wasn't too late, and that was amazing.

Guardian Heroes was their first Saturn game.

Gunstar Heroes was their first Genesis game.

Mischief Makers rocks.

Silpheed isn't even their own game, they were brung on board to help.

I doubt that the X360 would beat out the PS2/3,shmup-wise.

Silhouette Mirage and Mischief Makers fucking rock. Haven't played MM in a long time, but I 1CCed SM a few weeks ago and I can attest to its face melting badassity. As far as I know, they only worked on the graphical (and maybe sound?) parts of PS2 Silpheed, and for an early PS2 game, those qualities still hold up now. Blame Game Arts for the gameplay.

In any event, I think it's fucking weird how much niche support the 360 is getting in Japan.

money is a wonderful thing. but how long after launch will this last if the system doesn't sell? hopefully, those japanese games are brought here and europeand make them money so they'll keep making them.

i think the xbox could have a game where final fantasy characters had sex with the DOA girls, and the Japanese still would buy sony in droves.

lawlz, reminds me of the time when DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball came out, and more Japanese copies of the game sold than there were Japanese Xboxes that sold. That country weirds the fuck out of me sometimes.
