Anyone here know if Tekken 4 can work on a low res monitor. I've seen somewhere before that it can, but I want to make sure. Thank you.

I have more questions, if you can answer... check the bottom of the thread. Thanks!

I believe Klov is wrong (Which it is on some listings).

The System 246 suports 15K & 31K. I currently have Soul calibur 2 (system 246) running on my Capcom impress cabinet (15k).

Tekken 4 uses the exact same bord (actualy i am getting a software kit so i can play tekken 4 on my sys 246 kit).

-edit-

Additional Information. The System 246 is a JVS/Jamma2 kit but most kits you buy online include the Jamma 1 board to run on old cabinets. So if you buy it. Make sure it has the board (its a small loose pcb with a jamma connector and 3 cables plugging into the system 246 box.

Yeah, the one I want is being played on a Mortal Kombat 2 machine... and he says you can adjust it in the settings. I just wanted to be sure. Also, how does it look at a lower res? Obviously not great, but is it terrible? Thanks for the info.

Tekken 4 I don't know but soul calibur 2 looks freaking fantastic on my capcom screen. Looks even better then playing the ps2 version on a standard tv set.

Also soul calibur 2 has a flicker option to turn on interlace on or off to improve the display resolution. So you get a bit of flickering on but the game looks even better.

Oh also the option between 15k & 31k is on the front of the System 246 box. One of the DIP swiches between rez.

Namco's European site should have online manuals to most recent arcade kits. Tekken 4 will be in the collection.

Does anyone have a ballpark on a Tekken 5 board's cost? The ps2 port doesn't even do it justice (at least from what I've seen). It's probably not cheap seeing as how it's still a money maker...

I believe a little more then $2k. Try coinopexpress.com for a better quote.

Have they released the boardsets for the Tekken 5 yet? I know you'll probably have to pay at least $5k for the dedicated cabinet. That's if you can find someone who wants to sell it to you.

EDIT: I just did a quick search and brand new dedicated Tekken 5 run from $6575.00 to $6875.00 USD. Yikes!

suprising enough. I have seen a few boardsets sold on ebay. I am not sure if they were ripped out of a dedicated cabinet or if some places have just the boardset.

I dont understand why they wont have just the hw kits only specialy since were not far away from the v 5.1 release.

Okay, I have a Tekken 4 set I'm looking to get... but I have even more questions. Does this system 246 require a different power supply than say... Namco System 11 or STV TITAN? Also, is the jamma hook up on it the same as older Tekken games (same kick harness) or is it completely different? Anyone know? I really want to get one, but I'd hate to buy an expensive paper weight. Thanks.

Just thought I would ask this since it is along the lines of what Spike had. Can you play Tekkn 4 and all the other System 246 games on a VGA monitor that outputs 31KHz? I mean would it be like using the AW?

Also, would this use the same kick harness as my System 11? Therefore getting stereo and the extra buttons from there? If I can just plug this in and unplug my other, that would be sweet as hell. I hate doing too much work. ;)

Does Stereo come out of the one you know about? In a few days, I'll find out anyhow, but I'm dying to know in the meanwhile.
