Curious to know if the Japanese PSP canr ead European UMD movies - it is the same zone correct?

I was also lookigng for some info on "all-zone" UMD - is anyone working on this? I'd really like to get that as I travel a lot between Europe and the US and would love to be able to play my movies bought in the US/Europe and Asia on my PSP.

Yes. I have played Resident Evil Apocolypse no probs on my 1.5 jap psp. I had to use the wab version changer to play ghostbusters though as it required me to "upgrade" my firmware. I think some movies require Wab version changer v2.5 though.

I don't really care for the romz so I guess if I have a Jp PSP upgraded to latest firmware I can read all the UMD R2 (europe and japan)...

I wouldnt upgrade just so you can read all UMDs from EU / JP. You can do that without upgrading using the WAB version changer. If your going to upgrade, I would do it because you want the new features (web browser, AVC video etc).

Actually, it looks like most launch Euro UMD movies play fine in an USA PSP, they are not region-coded for some reason. However I read that some of them are region-coded and don't work, like Alien euro-version.
