I badly need JPN-AES inserts (and stickers!) for the following titles:

Captain Tomaday
Flipshot
Musashi Ganryuuki
Puzzle de Pon! R

AFAIK, Tomaday and Flipshot had a JPN MVS release including a JPN art set, while the other two had not. Yet Puzzle de Pon! R should be pretty basical to creat, as the whole game is just some kind of official hack of the original, so just be it for the art as well. As for Ganryuu, I've re-created the JPN logo myself in vectorial form.

Anyone if the position and intention of helping me, I would of course try my best to contribute, i.e. I can write Japanese text for the spine and the back of the inserts, eventually getting lines from the in-game intros and how-to-plays, or writing something just from scratch.

Of course I'm also avalaible to pay for anyone hard work. :)

Well, please contact me if interested!

G.

i know how YOU could help me out ...

well ... feel free to send me whatever art you have and i'll see, if i can come up with something decent. will take a while, because i'll only be working on it late at night.
you can use yousendit.com and then send me a link to my email address, if you don't have enough webspace to upload it.

Unfortunately I do not have the JPN MVS art set for Tomaday nor Flipshot. :-(
As for Ganryuu, I'm desperately trying to locate a copy of the flyer that would make a nice cover illustration for an insert, but still nothing. As for PdPR I have nothing in my hands as well...

just checked ganryu last night and found some decent in-game art one could use.

maybe one of these for the front :

ganryu045.png
ganryu049.png

and this as a dark bg for the back :

ganryu007.png

making the back of the whole insert a bit dark and placing some extra art on the back. ... i can already picture it ...

will try to get a graphic tablet off ebay and then see, if i can use this for re-drawing the art.
also got some other software to try to turn it into vector art.

we'll see ...

btw ...
i'm not really interested in the game itself, but i wanted to try that kind of stuff for quite a while now.
if there are any more interesting cutscenes or a nice ending, then please try to take screenshots.

I was contemplating on redrawing that Ganryu art on the poster/flyer through Photoshop. I would use illustrator BUT the machine I use cannot handle both programs right now.
I don't have or collect any Japanese art(NGF and a few other mags being the exception) nor have I seen any for the those particular titles. I may have seen something for Puzzle De Pon R but I have to double check.
The GANRYU game doesn't really move me at the moment although it would be a positive experience. who nows.. I could outline it and you shade it...maybe in the future..

Ok, here is the situation.

MUSASHI GANRYUUKI

This is the flyer we need:

I'M STILL LOOKING FOR THIS ONE! Anyone?

A clever photoshop user should not have too much pain as for 'polishing' this piece of art from commercial writings. This would make a wonderful cover art.

This:

Is a logo recreation by me. This one is vectorial, keep in mind, so nice quality! Also, the final version is updated by now.

As for all the JPN writings needed as for the back and the spine of the insert, I would gladly provide that by myself, ready to be cut-and-pasted in any editor, etc.

I also have the US complete art set for this game, where some additional art can be taken from (IR the gal illust, perfect for the bottom of the spine and the back of the insert, plus some random bonus stuff). Plus a nice official 'wallpaper pattern' can be obtained from the mini-marque, also possibly helpful for the design of spine&back of the insert.

* * *

As for Tomaday and FlipShot, as you know JPN MVS art do exist, as both games had a JPN release, yet I do not possess them. NGF actually created a JPN insert with JPN art for FlipShot, and a JPN insert for Tomady also has already be seen, yet not that high quality.

Of course, I would anyway provide any help by sending Japanese-encoded texts for the back and the spine of the insert. I also have myself the US art set for the game.

As for Puzzle De Pon R! I think that should basically be a rework of the
Puzzle De Pon art. PdPR is basically an official semi-hack of the original, so be it the same for the insert, possibly just changing the backdrop of the image, and colour pattern. Maybe a pink puzzle-theme backdrop would be good?

---

As for Bang Bead, there's no JPN art of course. I was just thinking about and horizontal front design (like KOF2000) to use the US MVS art. The logo is just the US one (+Japanese subtitle to be added), so no prob on this issue, and I would provide all Japanese textes for the case.

---

Anyone?

Bump!

Still no one interested in doing the JPN insert design job?

Of course I'll provide any help needed as for Japanese writing and stuff. :)

I've been helping good old Alex Deffty for his insert designing, for I've been employed in VHS/DVD pro insert designing for so many years. :)

C'mon guys, I know the skilled & talented ones are there among you! :)

Still to FIND that one and/or get a decent scan for printing purpose/quality, actually. :(

I would PM some of the talented artists we have and see if there is something they can do (im sure they can come up with something of higher quality than the original art if not certainly equal to).

seriously that flyer art looks homemade.

If your doing this for conversion sales/work etc, i'd say your SOL but then again, some people may alter their moral code for the color of money.

No sale, no work, no gain involved for me but to complete my own private collection, of course. :)

I'm surprised Deffty hasn't made some already.

Hello, I'm a freelance illustrator that loves SNK, anime, and manga art. I can make a hi res non-watermarked illustration for your project for a reasonable fee. Please see the below samples, the finished version would look similar to colored image I did. Please PM me if you're interested Shito.
