hi,

i recently purchased an Amiga 1080 monitor however it didn't come with any cables or manuals and i've been searching through the net but couldnt find the pinouts for it

the back has a dsub 9 pin input for analog RGB i believe, i would like to use it for a supergun project so any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks.

The 1080 has the same pinout as the 1084D monitor.

You can find that pinout HERE.

I first ran some of my games from my amiga 1080 monitor. There's one thing you should know. The sync rate isn't quite the same, so you can never get a truly still image. I ran my cps-2 from it, and whenever the picture changed too much, the monitor's picture would jiggle. It works great for a quick setup for tests and stuff, but it won't have a perfect picture. btw, an easy way to find the monitor's pinout, is just trial and error with the bare wires into the dsub connector. It won't do the monitor any harm that I know of.

Well I finally got my CPSII A board in the mail so I was able to test out the monitor. As you said, it's good for testing but the picture jitters too much.

The picture also skews a little when the two horizontal black bars move through it. Maybe it's just my setup, I was too cheap to buy a d-sub 9 cable (they were $20) so I cut off the cable from a colecovision controller since it also uses a d-sub 9 connector. I don't have a multimeter or anything so I didn't know which coloured wires correspond to which pins so I was only able to connect the rgb and sync, no ground.

All in all, I'm happy that the Super Street Fighter II Turbo board I bought off of eBay in May 2001 and that I was only able to test just now, works!!
