Need some help here.
I've owned quite a few sticks for my AES, lately I've been using HORI-sticks only. Some days ago one of the directions (left) ended to respond, seemed to be something with the connection though, since it worked fine after i hit reset. Just now the down direction died, and it seems to be permanent. :(

Is this usual? can I possibly fix it?
One of my old sticks got fucked when it dropped down from a chair once, but this time there was no harm made before it went out.

Pop that sucker open -- either a microswitch died or one of your wires came loose, either of which aren't too difficult to fix. (It's the top switch on the stick--the switches are ass-backwards on joysticks.)

Hope this helps!

If you pay for shipping. I have four used microswitches taken from a Neo Geo Hori stick, if you want them. They were working when I took them out. P.M if your interested.

zapatistab > Thanks, that's very nice of you! I'll get back with the results as soon as I've gotten the stick open. How do i detect i bad microswitch?

Also i have one HORI with a bad start-button, have tried almost everything with that one though. :(

As far as a bad microswitch; the only way to truly know is to remove it and install a new one, or a used one that you know works. If all your connections are good, (no loose wires) then it's probably the microswitch. As everyone else has mentioned.

As far as the start button. Open it up and look at the connection. Take a number two pencil and clean it with the eraser. If the connection on the PCB has none of that black tar suff, then cleaning it should work. Also, you can probably find a cheap button at Radio Shack, but it will require some minor modding on your part.
