I'm trying to connect my computer to a 27 inch sony vega (non-progressive scan) tv with a vga to component cable. I can get a picture but it has a blue hue to it.

I understand this is not Neo related, but I know many of you on this board are very knowledgeable, so any help would be appreciated.

Well, is it component or RGB inputs on your TV? Basically, do you live in the US, or abroad?

If it's component (you live in the states), you can't just connect your comptuer like that. Component input is Y-pR-pB, or R and B are based on the level of green (a precentage, if you will). Slightly different than RGB, but enough to cause problems.

There are circuits to convert Y-pR-pB to RGB, and there are video cards and dongles that can just do it for you. Just remember, to do 480i (since your TV is not progressive scan), you'll need to set your computer to display at 640x480 @ 43hz interlaced. If you're using Windows, you'll probably need PowerStrip.
