Hi all!! Just wondering what y'all know of as the highest current draw on the 5v rail by an arcade PCB?? Just as an example, in the manuals for Capcom CPS games it says it needs a PSU with 10Amps on the 5v supply, but surely this is just a recommendation and not actually what the damn things consume. In saying that, they do seem to be one of the hungrier board sets around.

Any tech maniacs out there with this kinda knowledge on hand?? :help:

I'm not so much after this info for particular PCBs to take into account, but more as a broad average for the maximum one may come across in our travels. ;)

The Hyper Neo Geo 64 manual quotes 10A on 5V as well, and I think it actually draws something somehow close to that. If you are talking about cps2 I think the manual is bullshit because if I remember well they work with a jameco sc200 psu that should only output 4A.

Hyper 64 is reality do not draw 10Amp. I have powered it off an 7Amp supply.

I would say daytona draw more current. It blow my 7Amp Sanwa PSU in less than 3 mins!
