I'll start by saying im a bitch to please. I probably asked this question a long time ago.

Anyways, I want to get ahold of a stick as close as possible to what you would find on a neo 50.
I want a sanwa stick with sanwa buttons. Or a stick that allows me to interchange the parts *this is rare, but it would be awesome.

A stick I like is the dreamcast agetec. I'd settle to use this if I could somehow convert the dumb thing to work on xbox.

I wanna get on live when I come into some money. Preferably to play 2002 with others. Maybe a little 03 for shits.

Its making me so crazy to not be involved, haha

Anyway, rambling aside.. If you got a link or a review or anything. Hook me up. I will not settle for any kind of US style stick because I don't like excessive pressure. I love clicking sticks also. Sanwa style parts only.

What about the the Real Arcade Pro with an PS 2 -> Xbox adapter? It has a Sanwa stick I believe, and the buttons can be changed to Sanwas without too much difficulty.

Or, you could just grab a stick from one of the custom builders at shoryuken.com (DreadedFist or ThaDarkside are two good builders).

I have a Hori EX that works pretty well. The stick seems fine but the buttons use contact pads instead of microswitches, which makes them sort of "mashy." Mainly I bought it for the Live communicator port and the size is great. I'll probably replace the buttons in a couple weeks and the stick at a later date.

Those custom sticks can get real expensive in a hurry. This guy seems to be about the best:

^This one is just amazing! I found it in one of the "check out my stick" threads.

The "Maru" stick is fucking badass. Byrdo makes some incredible-looking sticks, although I'd be way to scared to play with 'em.

I don't like the Hori EX. Especially bad for 3S, since EX moves don't work too well. Kind of ironic.

Custom all the way.

byrdo's sticks look awesome. I wouldn't pay that much for them though.

Have a joystick custom built and mod it to use with the Xbox. That way you'll have exactly what you want when you go to play instead of settling for something "close" to what you want.

Where would be the best place to go get a custom modded stick?

Depends on price in relation to quality of work, and if you did custom art/plexi.

Yep, thats exactly right. I checked the link. Good stuff, this isnt cheap, but way more affordable then others. The small box example is the exact one I want. Something thats nice and durable and has interchangable parts. If I could get that stick for a neo, I'd be in heaven gaming wise.

Thats what I hate about company built joysticks. They are junk as far as replacing parts goes. any of those buttons on a Neo Hori/Neo Hori II go bad and you have a giant paper weight. They will go bad also, cause the microswitches are pcb connected and look to be proprietary to it.

Anyways, if I get one made I'm gonna just tell the dude to make that exact one thats shown in the picture. The smaller model.

I also wanna get on live and throw down with you punks, BADLY. :smirk:

If you sent him the Neo Geo pinout and a db15 cable, he'd probably do that for you.

And if you get the db15 mod on an xbox pad from D-Lite, I'm pretty sure the pinout used for that is the same as the neo-geo pinout, so you could use it on Neo and xbox.

Do any of you use a 6 button stick for neo games?

I'm guessing that I'd have to use a relay or 4pin 2position switch to get first button on the second row to be A, followed by the top three as A,B,C.

You could just make a Neo Geo styled stick that would only work for Neo Geo and Neo Geo ports on xbox.

If you don't want to get overly complicated two sticks would be best.

With the xbox and ps2 ports you can remap buttons right? I don't have any... :kekeke:

If I were going to make a universal 6 button stick, I could wire it for neo and then rewire the adaptors (hacked controllers) for ps2 and xbox. This is unless the buttons are remappable, then I could just leave it.

Never. I gotta have four buttons straight accross the top for Neo. Although I do prefer a 6-button (not 8-button) layout to play 3rd Strike.

I do. Works great for shooters. Unfortunately, not so good for fighting games. I use a Japanese 6-button layout, so when it's possible, I go to AES mode and remap to this:

1 2 3
4 5 6

4 = A, 1 = B, 2 = C, 3 = D

If a button configuration isn't available, I just plug in my Pro stick.

Please, for the love of god look in my sig.

Here's the link, I've got 3 I've been sitting on for months now.

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123574

2 are all Sanwa customs and are very cheap for what you're getting. Hell make me a reasonable offer and you'll probably get em.

I swear by my happs modded Pelican real-arcades though.
