Atomiswave resolution compatibility with old cab?

I currently use a Neo Candy Cab to play my JAMMA boards. I wanted to get an Atomiswave system because of all the SNK games being made on it now. The problem is someone told me my Neo Candy will not run the games well because of some sort of resolution problems. I’m wondering if I need to buy a Sammy Cab to run an Atomiswave well or if my current cab can handle it just as good?

It will play on all 15k and 31k monitors so the monitor in your candy (15k I am sure) should work just fine.

Does it display in lower resolution? Does the AW look just as good on a 15k monitor as it does on a 31k?

I have not seen it run in 31k but it looks great in 15k and I am VERY picky about how my games look lol.

Sweet, ever since I began hearing about Metal Slug 6 I've been paying more attention to Atomiswave.

Atomiswave will work in both 15 and 31 khz res modes, there's a switch for it. Games look good in low res too, actually the 2D ones look better than in hi res.
However, some people have complained that in low res the AW video output is too bright for their cab.

Check my AW FAQ for more info:

Where would I find a 31 khz monitor to swap in for my current one? I have seen some 31khz, some 29" monitors, but no 31khz 29" monitors?

Yes and I think the reason it is brighter is because in one of the manuals for the Atomiswave it said it is for 15.75khz.
