I got a couple of ASIA region F3 carts that had the security seal removed - so I had a look inside.

First up is Bubble Memories - this must be a bootleg, looks like a ROM swap and what are those chips on the bottom row.

All the soldering appears to be factory although I am no expert.

Definate boot.

It is an original Taito pcb but the mask roms have been replaced with those TSOP packaged flash roms which are adapted using a small pcb to a DIP pinout..

Well you've seen one now.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, can you post the markings on a couple of the other chips on that bootleg board of yours. There appears to be 5 socketed 20 pin DIL chips on the boards youve got there , im betting they are something like 18CV8P's or likewise.
If so , it means the bootleggers had a wee bit more work to do than copying the roms .. they had to work out the banking schemes implemented in those programmable logic chips. If it turns out they are just 74 logics .. jees did they have an easy job :)

@ MrSporty Those five socketed chips have Pal 16L3ACN marked on them or at least that what it looks like on a couple and slightly different numbering on another. Sure is small print. My eyes are aching now.

@chris1 If you have a broken seal take a look and see if you have been ripped by twaty bootleggers.
