Aracade Monitor Question?

I am trying to adjust my Neo Geo Japanese Cab monitor. I need to pull it out and adjust the angle.

How long should I let the cab sit unhooked to make sure that all the electricity has been drained from the cab?

I know this is a weird question but I don’t want to get shocked.

Thanks

Except for the monitor, everthing should be drained enough after a couple of hours... You should always discharge a monitor manually, even if it has been sitting unplugged for a month just to be sure.

How would you discharge the monitor?

Hehehe... you take your life into your own hands! MWAhahahaha

This is how I do it:

<DISCLAIMER>I take no responsibility for you shocking yourself or any damage to your monitor, game, or anything else! </DISCLAIMER>

Get a LONG flathead screwdriver. Attach one end of a jumper cable to the top (near the handle), attach the other end of the jumper cable (SAME COLOR) to a metal part of the monitor frame, PUT ONE HAND IN YOUR POCKET!!!, slowly and CAREFULLY insert the tip of the screwdriver under the suction cup connected by a wire to the circuit boards until you hear a pop, remove, wait 15 seconds, repeat until you don't hear the pop any more. You should be able to disconnect the suction cup at this point.

You should only do this if you are going to be working with the circuit boards that drive the monitor (chassis)
