What games are best to put in 6 slot for my arcade?

Yo everyone. I am planning on starting my own business within the year, and I have purchased a neo geo 6 slot arcade machine for my arcade, for when it starts up. I did a little bit of research, and have already purchased metal slug 5, and samurai showdown 5. I would like to get some advice on 4 other games to round out my cabinet to get the most money out of them. If I had my way, they'd all be metal slugs, as that is my preference (I loved playing them as a kid), but as a gamer, I know that's not going to be what the majority of people are going to want to play.

Any advice would be very helpful. :help: Thanks.

1. kof 98 or 2k2
2. mark of the wolves
3. magical drop 3
4. puzzle bobble
i think you will make the most money out of these games. one of my favorite neo games is matrimelee but unless you dont have a move list put on the cab, i wouldnt suggest the game.

also, personally, i wouldnt put in samsho 5, it looks pretty but i think the game plays like crap. i'd put samsho 2 or 4 in. mainly becuase i think these 2 are the most popular. they're really easy to play too since the game tell you how to do each character's special. but that's just one man's oppinion.

Yeah, I these are the neo geo games I (and friends) will play at arcades:

1.Metal Slug (ANY one!!)
2.Puzzle bobble (1 or 2, 1 is uber 1337)
3.Samsho IV (I really like it)
4.Magical Drop 3
5. Any vertical scrolling shooter on neo-geo is great (never played a bad one)
6. SVC chaos (although some purists hate it, it looks nice, and thats what alot of people play by)
And KoF neowave for atomiswave!!! OMG

My six slot lineup that I adored when I had one was:

Blazing Star
SS4
SvC
MD3
ROTD
NTM

Pricey? Yeah, a great mix? Absolutely. I also put them in that order because the attract mode shuffle was great in succession, just to watch.

i think you should have been more clear

SS4- samurai showdown 4
SvC- snk vs capcom
MD3- magical drop 3
ROTD- rage of the dragons (which i would never suggest)
NTM- neo turf masters

its like trying to read those annoying vanity plates...

personally, this would be your dream 6 money maker:

samurai shodown 2
king of fighters 98 or 96
puzzle bobble
neo turf master
baseball stars 2 <----- serious eye catcher right here
metal slug (any one really)

that right there covers pretty much all the bases. just remember newer does not mean better shodown 2 looks WAY more fun than the others in demo mode. kof 98 has a bitchin intro, turf masters is just plain good and appeals to the 21+ crowd, slugs are all the same and all good, everyone has played and enjoyed puzzle bobble and baseball stars 2 just screams play me.

Alright. So far, this is what I've got:

Keeping Metal slug 5

Buying Magical Drop 3 (looked at it, looks really fun, got good reviews)

Deciding on Samurai Showdown 2 or 4 (2 came with my neo geo when I first bought it, I'd have to buy 4, but not a big deal if that's what I end up decided on)

A King of Fighters game (everyone seems to have a different preference. argh!! :p )

Garou: Mark of the Wolves (the game looks friggin' fantastic)

Still need advice on picking another game, and deciding between SS games and Kof's.

Thanks for the responses so far!

Depends on the kind of crowd you expect to frequent the machine. If you're planning on an arcade outside of a highly popular area (a 'dive'), you'll want the games the die-hards will want to play:

Garou-MOTW
KOF2k2
Strikers 1945 Plus
Metal Slug 3
Magical Drop 3
Twinkle Star Sprites

If it will be passed by your general, non die-hard gamer crowd, you'll want to change that. Luckily, they're very cheap carts compared to the ones above.

Puzzle Bobble
Samurai Shodown 2
Metal Slug (I think 3 has the best attract mode, but any will work fine, even a cheap copy of metal slug 1.)
Magician Lord (Cheap platformer. Sustitue in Nightmare in the Dark if you're willing to spend the extra money.)
Blazing Star (Cheap and great shmup, one of the best attract modes of all neogeo)
Random sports game (Neo Turf? Baseball All Stars?)

Just my opinion for what would make the most money. MY personal dream MV-6 for my home:
Garou-MOTW
Twinkle Star Sprites
MSlug 3
Nightmare in the Dark
Strikers 1945 Plus
Magical Drop 3/Puzzle Bobble (Im undecided on this one)

TOTALLY. Talk to the gamers and watch what they play. I think Magical Drop III, Garou Mark of the Wolves and Metal Slug 5 are great choices.

For samurai shodown I recomend

Samurai Shodown 5 Special. I recomend this one because it's the newest. People might come to your arcade just to try it out or play against their friends. Second choice would be Samurai Shodown2- You really can't resist putting a quarter into this game when you see it.

Blazing Star- I know everyone else has recomended this. It's a great shooter, a lot of fun.

King of Fighters 2002- A newer King of Fighters game with great 2player battles. If you don't go with this go for King of Fighters 98. (We all know that King of fighters 94 & 95 are the best, but we have to consider the crowd.)

For the King of Fighters go with 2002 and for the extra game I would say Last Blade? Or maybe Bust A Move/Bubble Bobble. As for Samurai Shodown I would say it depends on you really. I personally prefer 4. I've had a lot of fun playing that at Putt Putt.

ok

1 - The King of Fighters 96 or 98
2 - Metal Slug 3
3 - Art of Fighting 2
4 - Strikers 1945 plus
5 - Samurai Shodown 4
6 - SNK Vs. Capcom : Chaos

AOF2 will make people pump in the quarters like no tomorow
and i think thats a pretty eye catching selection of games.

My choice would be:

1) Metal Slug 3
2) Samsho 2 or 4
3) Last Blade
4) KoF 98
5) Sengoku 3 (Sengoku Legends 2001). It's not the best beat em up in existence, but if you're going for a neo geo set up with a couple different games, this is a sure fire hit, imo.
6) Anything you feel like to round out the roster.

I would recommend getting a few atomiswave cabs with NGBC or Neowave, a Marvel vs Capcom 2 cab, and then eventually an atomiswave cab with Samsho Tenka when it comes out (I played Tenka when I was in Tokyo a week ago, and I really enjoyed it).

Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble is an ABSOLUTE must-have for a setup like yours. I have yet to find a person that didn't enjoy putting quarters in a machine that didn't have that game on it.

I'll put in another vote for KoF 98, as it is my favorite and has a bitchin intro.

As far as shooters, Blazing Star or Strikers 1945 Plus (if you can get your hands on it for a decent price) are excellent choices.

Baseball Stars 2 and Neo Turf Masters people just can't seem to get enough of.

Metal Slugs are pretty much a mainstay in Neo Cabs. 1 is a classic, but I think I see the most positive reactions come from X, 3 and 5.

Samurai Shodown, IV and II are my favorites, in that order. I can't comment on V as I still haven't played it yet.

Obviously, try to keep an eye out for who plays what and the reaction that people have to the games in your cab and adjust accordingly. That's the beauty of Neo machines. People don't like one of your games? Just switch the cart, they're relatively cheap nowadays. Sounds like you're doing pretty well for yourself. Good luck!

bottom line is this
puzzle games are timeless fun and loved by all
metal slug is the best game so many never played
kof 98 is my favorite kof but lets face it the average joe gamer is probably not going to be playing a 2d fighter with 98 in the title.
actually try to avoid fighters as kids today seem to be retarded and dont seem to understand anything more than a button masher like tekken. pains me to say it but its true, and i doubt your primary customers will be 20 year old guys who actually remember and want to play art of fighting or samsho II.

1 metal slug 3
2 puzzle bobble**
3 magical drop 3
4 kof 2003 or 2002
5 samsho V or V special
6 metal slug 1,X,4,5 or shock troopers II

I was at an arcade today and in the 4-slot they had it was full of KOF games, and I realized that the lack of variety was not good. So I say thats a good choice to have SS V and MS V in the cab, but for the other 4 I would deff. put...

1.) Matrimelee (and also have the movelists on the cab of this game)
2.) Strikers 1945 Plus
3.) Puzzle Bubble
&
4.) Stakes Winner 2

good variety there!

Shock Troopers
Garou: MOTW
KOF 2003
Metal Slug 5
Blazing Star
Street Hoops

...but that's just me. *I'd say throw in KOF 2002 over 2003, and MS 3 over 5 but ppl tend to freak out at seeing the later installments of games that aren't too old. Blazing Star is still Impressive for a game from 1997 as is Shock Troopers and Street Hoops is a fun basketball game that should appeal to the sports heroes of the world over. Garou: MOTW needs no explination as to why.
