I was just curious if anyone else has had some luck in getting cabinets or boards from a distributor for a good price. I have been to two so far. From one, I got two naomis w/ gdrom for insanely low prices and several older MVS games for $5 each. I also bought a MK1, MK2, and 2 darkstalkers A+B combos for $25 each. From the other distributor I got a free SF2: Champion Ed. (gaphical glitches) and a free spiderman system 32 board with marquee, bezel, and manual. I am still trying to find a cheap cabinet though.

No, distributors in the U.S are dieing off and I really could care less. Every distributor I tried to deall with in the past if I could get them to tallk to me at all has always tried to scam me. I remember I needed a sf2 cps 1 board 5 years ago to part out to fix my various other cps 1 board and one distributer tried to sell me one at $135 and the other at $200. Before raz came up with his cps 2 fix the only way to get your dead cps2 board fixed was to send it back to capcom but only through a distributor. One distributor I called demanded I buy something from them if I wanted their help why another distributor wanted me to pay them $300 on top of the capcom fee. So no I haven't had any good dealing with distributors. They gave you a spiderman board with extras for free, that thing worth about $100 minimum. How cheap were the naomi GD by the way.

I got the Naomi for $100. That included the sound amp board, power supplies, io board and all the cables. But about the spiderman, the guy was being really cool about it. He even answered a question I had about a tron cabinet a friend of mine has. The only thing I "paid" with for the street fighter 2 board and spiderman was I bought him a 12 pack of coke for being cool with me. I did have a rather unfun time with one distributor though. They only had 2 boards I was interested in. One was a Super Street Fighter 2 B board that they wanted $100 for and a Snk vs. Capcom Chaos pcb for $550. I quickly said no thanks and bought my controller parts and left.

I might be able to share some of the wealth though, as the distributor I got all the boards for $25 a piece still has a number of other boards... Namely, NBA Jam, 2 Killer Instincts without the hard drives, an MK3, and Ultimate MK3, a few boards from tecmo, and a number of copies of Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, and World Heroes for $5 each, and other goodies. (sorry for the run-on sentence there).

I wanna naomi bad too. And I've never found a good arcade distributor. With price or customer service. But one place I found in LA(I forgot the name) has lots of the latest games on display for play. So you can just hang out and play games until you feel guilty for not buying anything. I played rumblefish there and kof neowave.

You guys might want to check out BYOAC Forums buy/sell/trade forum.
I've seen a couple of places mentioned - Coin Op Warehouse being the main one.

Plus of course there's lots of stuff being sold on the forums themselves.

This question is only dealing with physically visiting and acquiring games from a distributor. I appreciate you posting the links. For me though, half the fun is going out and seeing what of deals that I can get from local shops. Especially since distributors in general are dieing out, it is nice to hear what is still scored on occasion at a local level.

From the feedback on the forums, it sounds like in person is the best way to get anything from Coinop Warehouse... apparently the guy is really nice in person & you can get good deals from him, but he gets a bit snappy on the phone sometimes because he gets so many stupid questions...

Can't remember what part of USA he's in... what do I care it's not my country :p
